Color Mod Stage 1 & 2 (CMS1&2): TSX and S2000

Hi all.

Starting the new year with a few new services. One of which will be presented here. Color mod stage 2 (CMS2) is different from the normal color modding, where the end result is a sharper cutoff without traces of shade, and in many occasions improved color too.

TSX - CustomLightz - The HID Retrofit Specialist
S2000 - CustomLightz - The HID Retrofit Specialist

Also check out our color mod section for projectors other than TSX and S2000.

Bjorn! I will HAVE to do this!

I hate you! Yet...I can't help but love you. This is the kind of cut-off I've been missing...that extra sharpness.

So, obviously, I'd have to send you my headlights again -- then you can do the mod?

Man, I'll have to think about this. Those cut-offs look great!

That looks sick, Bjorn. Ill be sure to head out to LI that weekend if Im not already busy.

Think it'd be possible to get that one projector rotated properly as well, if i come? or will that take too long?

Yeah, we should have time to do that for you. I think you should get there around noon on Saturday, and wait for it to get a little darker before it's all done.

A common question. I tell my customers to consider a few things before determining which is better FOR YOU. What's great for you may not be so great for the next person in line.

Budget: The S2000 is almost twice the cost (~$175) of a TSX
Brightness/foreground/width: The S2000 has an advantage over the TSX.
Color: Used to be the TSX, and still is the TSX although, the S2000 with CMS2 is very impressive. Put it this way, if you want mainly blue and purple both projectors are comparable. If you want rainbow (rb) colors, such as red, orange, green, yellow, etc, then TSX and the FX35 are your only options. BTW, we are still the only ones who can place RB on a FX35 :P

Were do you see the color? Is it in the light output on the road, or when you look at the car?

Hi

The color is added to the cutoff, which is the line between light on the ground and no light for on-comming traffic.

The color "flicker" commonly seen from OEM HID projectors is the color we are talking about. For foreground light color, it's strictly dependent on the color temperature of the bulb. For example, you won't see color flickering from a HID kit civic. HOwever, you will see flickering with a retrofitted Civic, and many times more if the projectors have been color modded.

Ideally, you want a bulb that projects as much white light as possible, since that creates the most amount of visible light to the human eye, while flickering is a nice add on. In the past, color modding has been associated with a decrease in light output, but not with CMS2.

Hope this clears it up.

I can ship them to Mars as long as you pay for it in advance :)

We can always hold the headlights until you get back too. We did that for many ppl in the military including atruhondagurl aka Dawn, who is one of the moderators here. I am sorry Dawn, if I did spell your sn incorrectly.

So the color-mod will only be seen at the "top" of where the light cuts off and where the beam hits the ground? Also, at the occasional angle where it "flickers", right?

Basically, I love OEM HIDs. I don't like ricey-colored lights from cheap "HID" bulbs. I don't count anything without a ballast as real HID. I want the purest white light, which is what OEM delivers. I don't want opposing traffic to see my headlights and think what I have is not OEM HID.

Did that make sense?
