Progress Sport Springs
I received and installed my Progress Sport Springs. I have some feedback for both installation and results.
As far as installation goes, you do not need to cut the bump-stops with these springs. Additionally, the springs come up-side down in the box with the stickers indicating which spring goes where on the bottom. The most important thing when installing these is make sure the "coil pattern" or spirals match your OEM springs when you take them off. This will reduce the chances of "popping sounds". Also, the Progress springs are wound very tight at the bottom, and it's difficult to get the little rubber cushions from the stock springs on them. This can be solved by heating the rubber up in hot water and squeezing it through the gap in the springs with some mild soap. The rear springs were pretty easy, however you have to really push down on the caliper hard to get the new springs to slid into place without rubbing the rubber cushion off the bottom. Install took me about 6 - 7 hours because I completely took off my windshield crowl, strut tower trim, and windshield wipers. This allows you complete access to the top of the strut tower. The reason for this; loosen the nut that holds the bump stop into the shock BEFORE you take the strut tower off. If you don't do this, your going to need a vice mounted on a work bench to hold it. I did not use impact tools. DRIVING IMPRESSION: My first impression was the ride is fantastic. The suspension actually feels softer than stock in regards to bumps/rough surfaces, and tighter in corners. I've felt FA5's with Tein S-tech and IMO the ride quality is no comparison to the Progress springs. I think this has something to do with how many spirals these Progress springs have. DROP: My springs aren't settled yet and there is already 1.4" of drop up front, and 1.5" of drop in the rear. The right rear was 3/32" higher, but I think once they settle they'll be about even. I'm estimating another .3 - .4" of drop once the springs settle, and I'll post pictures tonight! CONCLUSION: Since these springs are dark gray in color, they look almost OEM once they're on the car. Since you have to take the strut towers completely out of the vehicle, you have to get an alinement done. You can say "I don't need one" all you want. You do. My car is at the dealership getting it done today, and it runs $65.00. Most places will also torque the struts and other assembly bolts to spec while they do it (just to make sure you did a good/safe job!). I highly recommend these springs. Excellent product. No popping sounds, exquisite drop, but the best part is; the ride quality is super smooth. Thanks CorSport!!!!! ![]() ![]()

I have noticed a little bit of a "rattle" with the right front strut. Sounds like something is completely tight. I'm taking it off when I get home to see what the deal is. I'll try and post up some pics. The drop is PERFECT! |

^^yeah im planning on boosting in the future but right now i just do some daily driving to school and what not. I was looking at the HFP suspension package but thats a lil spendy. i have no doubt it would be good but I want a more agressive drop. And I want to be able to put these on and not have to worry about them bouncing around or clicking. Any more info that is convencing to get these??? I would get mines professionally installed but wouldnt want to go back in a few months with popping and bouncing problems.

Whatever rattle noise I experienced went away after I but some more rubber pieces on the bottom of the dampener plate where the spring makes contact. It's quite as a mouse now!!!!! I really love these springs. They are definitely progressive rate springs as the coils really pile up on the top of the strut towers. So I'll have to get good shocks when my stockies fail. I know I've been holding off on posting pics, but don't just wait until you see my settled ride. The back and front of the car are both even! (The back dropped slightly more than the front, creating an even layout). Body-roll and neutrality of the car have been enhanced, and I haven't experienced any suspension bottom-out. The drop is somewhere between the Skunk2 and Tein S-tech drop. IMO it couldn't be any better. You'll get pics soon enough Don't worry...

I have eliminated about 90% of the clunking / rattling noise by adding tubing around the springs....i believe when you go over dips or what not the springs hit each other so i just cut the tube open, slid it through all the way to the top, and zip tie it.....the same setup as all the springs for RSX's....
anyway i might try some of the rubber pieces as well like you did OP....but im pretty satisfied as well now since most of the noises went away! the drop is perfect. funny how everyones noises come from the drivers side and not passenger huh? |

My car is completely quite now. There is nothing at all popping or clunking, even during sharp turns. All that was needed was a lil more rubber. On a side note, my wife thought my car looked ghetto because of how low it was. I laughed at her then told her to shut up and get naked (not really, but I wish I could have said that lol). |
