Bump for a great setup from a fantastic vendor. I have two thoughts on the subject: If you plan on keeping your car stock, or, plan on getting a race header and can live with the higher sound levels, get the dedicated FA5 system.
If you get a race header like I did-Vibrant RH w/HFC, I decided to use an 18" Vibrant resonator to quiet things down. So, the Vibrant coupe setup is better because you will need to cut out a section of the midpipe to accomodate the resonator. Either way, you are a winner with Vibrant. Price is great, engineering is superb, quality is fantastic and the sound is deep and mellow. Not obnoxious at all.

Tried to send you a PM - PM box full. I looked at your thread and the picture is different from the Corsport thread pic. I want to make sure Vibrant didn't change the exhaust (resonators) from the one that NitrousG35 has because I want the same sound.

07+ Civic Si Sedan Vibrant Exhaust Special On the SCTuned forum, they show some other Vibrant system for the FA5, hence the confusion. http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/sctun...0-shipped.html If I am not mistaken, there is not an official picture out yet for the FA5, so each company is using a Vibrant product to advertise the cat-back system. This could create confusion for people looking for a dedicated FA5 system. BRSi is also referring to a thread I did where I installed a Vibrant Race Header w/hfc. I added a second resonator-18" to my setup. I now have two resonators instead of one. I knew that adding the header would make the system a lot louder. Here is my Vibrant Race Header install that includes pics of the resonator: Mother of all Vibrant race header installs Here is my Vibrant Cat-Back exhaust, purchased from Corsport, that shows the install of an FG2 system on an FA5: Vibrant Cat-back exhaust installed today on my FA5! Hopes this clarifies everything. Corsport is a top notch company and Tai is the man. Great service, superfast delivery, shipping updates etc.

Tai, is Vibrant going to be getting an official promotional picture out for the FA5? People need to visualize what it will look like. I assume it will look similar to the FG2 system, sans the adjustable sleeve. The midpipe would just be 2" longer I believe.

All,
I finally got around to installing this exhaust, along with the Vibrant race header with high flow cat, for my FA5. I am extremely impressed with both the appearance and the sound quality. I'm not one that will comment on power improvements without a visit to the dyno, as I don't plan to do so until I've received and installed my Comptech supercharger. I've had a lot of Hondas and have experimented with quite a number of bolt-on modifications. I wouldn't consider myself an expert, but I can say that the sound and build quality of this setup is very impressive. I have driven my SI for three days since installing this setup and I have yet to see a CEL (no defouler installed), hear any rattles, or been displeased with anything no matter how minor. Two thumbs up to both the product and to the service from Corsport! Jason |
