Why? A TBS is a spacer. How does it give you better performance on a fuel injection? It spins the air? it is like getting a longer CAI pipe over some body elses. Does that mean because it is bigger it gives you more power? No.

I was not trying to hurt any ones feelings, but to me the only gains would be on a carb. not FI engines. Most of the computer will make the adjustment after some time. The dynos that are shown are right after the install. What are the numbers with in year on the same car?

u obviously haven't done enough research on this thing to come up with a complete answer to y this part makes power... in short it adds space inside the intake manifold, resulting in more hp/tq...

my dyno was done right after this was installed... but we didn't run it just once... and the car was on the dyno for more than 30mins that's more than enough time for the ecu to reset itself...

I use to thing they worked. I tested and had lots of them through out the years and would get some small results up front, but later, they were gone again. You are not changing the space enough for gains. For an intake to get power, the flow would have to change and by adding space you are not increasing flow or decreasing it either. If you can tune your car with one of these on there then I can see it, but if you are just bolting it on it is pretty hard to see.

I could be wrong and I will amit I am new to the import world, but in American muscle, I have not seen the gains they are suppose to provide unless in was used in a carbarated engine. I have read some on them and once again I was giving my opinion from what I have experienced. I will remove the picture and maybe I am a little upset from all the ones that I got burned by.

it's perfectly fine to be upset about the crap that u might have seen b4... but this one does work and the gains are consistent...

the ecu on these cars adjust for too many things... basically it tunes itself according to the stock map... meaning it changes the map to account for mods that might damage the engine... keeping the engine running as safe as possible...

longer CAI is before the throttle body, spacer is after. after throttle body means larger volume of air in manifold. more air volume in manifold translates to more power.

so the ecu is capable of self tuning to be sure of non damage? that's pretty sick
still curious though, do you think it's worth it for an N/A car? i mean every little addition is always nice but do you think in the long run with everything bolt-on and internal done, would it be worth an investment?

yes according to the sensors it has in place... now if u alter the sensor in any way like for example put on a race header w/defouler then your on ur own... the ecu doesn't know what to do with that except read it and adjust the A/F accordingly...

basically it's a spark plug defouler that u use to trick the o2 sensor in reading the somewhat proper reading it needs... w/o it u are sure to throw a CEL...

is adding this thing safe for the engine? i mean in the long run, will the extra air/space damage it in any way? if honda could have gotten a few extra HP out of extending the throttle body, why didn't they?

Why does honda not just turbo a civic in that case??
