Out of curiosity, do you guys think these plastic gasket spacers would crack if driven around in near -40c temps? I live in Canada, and sometimes during winter it can get really friggin cold.

Nah, we are in Denver, Colorado (low and high temps too) and I have never seen IM or TB heat gaskets break.

Hey Tai what do you know about this? Is this really a problem or just one freak incident? I ordered my spacer and associated gaskets this Saturday and don't want to run into this problem

CEL screwed me!!!

please read that whole thread b4 coming to a conclusion about the spacer...

even the OP said that it wasn't the spacer after all... he took it off and threw another light for the MAP... so it's something else for him... he only blamed the spacer b/c the guy @ Honda told him that was the problem...

I did and read that he also spliced into his harness!! I ordered my spacer last week and will be putting it on this week. I never suspected the spacer at all. I never would trust the money hungry Honda dealership also, that's why I bought the service manuals to do my own troubleshooting.

Tai I just got my stuff! I'll be busy this weekend putting my spacer on. I'll give you an update to what I think.

P.S. Security here couldn't identify what was in the box when they scanned it so I told them it was my **** ring and they freaked out and had me open it
It's been crazy here since 9/11 happened!!!

Install complete! I must say that it wasn't as smooth as I thought. The IM was a PITA to get off After installing the IMG the rest was smooth sailing. After filling the radiator up with new fluid I kept my finger crossed and checked for leaks.

I started the car and got a CEL right away I let the car run anyway to continue to check for leaks. After the fans kicked on for the second time I realized I was good to go

I turned the car off and disconnected the negative battery for about 10 minutes to reset the ECU and reconnected. Oh yeah!!! CEL was gone

Went for a test drive and really noticed a change in 2nd and 3rd gear. I'm not talking about a huge change but enought to be noticed if you've been driving your car with just a CAI.

Things are a little tight in the engine but with some adjustments everything fits just fine.

To everyone in the forum and those that had input to the tread thanks!

S/C is next? Hondata reflash? Don't really know but I'm sure I can get some advice on what to do next from all of you.

Just curious about somethings.

Should I reset the ecu after the install?

Does this mod require the TB bypass? I know it will help with the temps but the gains are from the spacer increasing volume right?

ecu resets itself... but if u want to do it manually it won't hurt...

the TB bypass isn't required...

the gains are from the increase of volume that spacer creates... and they are consistent with the TBG/IMG installed...

Well I have a set on the way now. I hope this is as easy to install as it looks. I am not mechanically inclined. I'm still amazed I got my short shifter installed, haha.
