Wide body Civic???

Are any of the exterior styling companies thinking of making a wide body kit fo the Civic Coupe? We need wider tires on our car, particularly the front. With a supercharged K24 pushing around 300 WHP traction is at a premium. In the next phase of modification I will be switching to a turbo setup and upping the HP to 450. I will also modify the car for road racing and grip will become critical.

Considering HKS has boosted more than a few RSX's to 420hp with minimal traction problems, I'd say this chassis and components, unlike the EG or EK chassis and components, are pretty capable of handling the boost. I've seen one N/A RSX with 300whp that chirped first, caught second and pulled 2.5 car lengths ahead of an SRT4. The guy driving said he usually the car usually catches in first gear though.

But then again, you're using a K24. Is that the same K24-powered Si you guys had at SEMA? Boosted K24's put out some serious torque (for a Honda). I thought about contacting Drive Shaft Shop for a custom driveshaft to handle at least 500hp. But I doubt I'll ever push the block that far.

HKS's experiences aside, there's a big difference between straight line traction and traction while cornering. When you are cornering at the limit of adhesion the throttle has to be used discreetly. Any increase in tire width, or even track width for that matter, helps the cause. Right now we are limited to a 235 tire and it ain't cuttin' it.

Yes it's the same car.

Nice...

I was working with Accolade Designs on a widebody, but I'm not all sure how long it'll be before they put something out. I'll see what else I can put together for them.

There are actually a few people on this forum who're working on kits. You should send nsxpowered a pm and let him know you're interested. Here's his work in case you haven't seen it. http://www.8thgencivic.com/honda-civ...kit-works.html

Just wanted to let you know, I just came across an ad for Extreme Dimensions, featuring the same widebody kit that was created for the Hot Wheels SEMA car. I'm guessing it'll be available soon.
