Updated, they referred me to another tech here's his input:
Riley, Shayne has asked me to assist you with your Honda calibration. Would you mind filling me in on what hardware is on your vehicle? What behavior are you seeing when you believe that you are hitting a speed limiter? I believe that all OTS calibrations have the speed limiter set up to 300 MPH and I don't believe you will be going that fast, but I would like to do what I can to verify that: 1) You have a speed limiter in place for some odd reason. 2) The limiting of the speed is due to drag, or your engine is not making enough horsepower to accelerate the vehicle any further. At what speeds do you believe a limiter is in place? Do you have a cell. # that I can contact you on to discuss this in person? Thanks, Christian. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, Christian My modifications consist of: K&N Typhoon SRI, p2r tbs with gaskets, kiddracing header, and custom 70mm exhaust. Last time I dynod I got 220whp and 168wtq. It is definitaly a speed limiter, when I reach 133-134 the rpm is roughly 8,000, and begins to bounce off. I know what drag/lack of power feels like and this is not it. I can send you my custom map once I get home. Thanks, Riley --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do, what is your Rev Limiter set at? It sounds like you may be bouncing off of your rev limiter, rather than a speed limiter. The speed limiter should be a soft limiter that is throttle imposed rather than a fuel cut that is a engine RPM limiter. Your tachometer may not match the RPM seen within the ECU (which is more accurate), if you are hitting the rev limiter, then the ECU will turn off the fuel injectors, then turn them back on once RPMs drop to a specified point. This sounds like what is happening with your vehicle. Thanks, Christian. |
