COBB AccessPORT Launch Control - Request for Launch RPM Preferences

The AccessPORT now has the ability to support Launch Control (LC) with our OTS maps. We have tested this feature in-house and with our existing Beta testers and this feature works as expected. Simply put, this ECU has a Stationary Rev Limiter that stops engine acceleration when the car is at a stand still. We have modified these table settings to provide a more effective means of launching the vehicle from a stand still. The stock stationary rev limiter is fairly slow so we modified these table settings to provide quicker stutter step.

To use Launch Control you would simply load a map with the appropriate Launch Control RPM setting (example Stage2+AEMSRI v100 3500LC) and the car will use existing logic to provide you with a more effective stutter step at 3,500 RPM to allow you to launch the car more consistently.

Please be advised that you can break all sorts of stuff (axles, clutch, pressure plate, etc.) by launching your vehicle from a standstill.

This poll is designed to allow you to choose what RPM range we should set launch control at in our current OTS maps. This is a multiple choice poll, so we would like you to make two choices, one for a street launch setting for every day use, and one for a drag strip launch you could load for the track.

This will be a configurable setting through the AccessTUNER software, allowing you to customize your Launch Control settings appropriate for your modifications and driving style.

Take care,
COBB Calibration Team

Now is this going to attempt to hold it at that rpm until the wheels get good traction or is it just going to bounce there and then when you take off go straight to redline thus still requiring me to melt down my clutch.

yes, all they are changing is the rev limit. this is because it is necessary to work within the limited parameters of the stock ecu.

it's just a 0mph rev limiter function, the same as stock, they're just asking you where you want them to put it...heh.

after taking my car to the track on slicks I voted for 7K

5500rpm wasn't doing it for me.

well if you're going to do dragstrip launches on slicks you're going to need an RPM greater than the stock 5500rpm

I love cobb. They listen to what the people want, it's great.

It should be open to any launch calibrations

(different cars ,different setups)

We are implementing Launch Control in the existing maps simply to enable the use of the feature until the software is available, at which point you can set it to meet your own personal needs.

Got a question.. since it reads engine trouble codes, can it read any OBD2 Port or just the 8th Gen's?
*Since I'm N/A right now I might as well go with the 4KRPM launch*
Will Vary once I have more parts installed.

Even after a lower vtec point?

although i would also say, 7k with slicks would be superior.
