Exclamation Hybrid racing em1 cmc failure

So I heard the infamous cmc pop and loss of hydraulic pressure but not with the oem cmc but the hybid racing em1 cmc. A quick seach and i havent seen anyone with issus yet.. Has anyone had em1 cmcs break on them? I have about a good 6000 miles on the cmc. Before anyone ask, yes i did switch all the correct components from the oem cmc listed in hybrid racings instructions. Can anyone chime in as to why it failed? Thanks.

how do you know it failed? do you see fluid coming out of the CMC? check to see if the fluid is leaking on your carpet. if it is then its your CMC

Oh wow. Were you just pushing in the clutch and it went or what? If there's no fluid on the carpet, check the lines that go to the slave cylinder and check for leaks.

Theres no fluid in the carpet but it lost pressure, could it be the lines then?

might be air in the system or the slave, or clutch pressure plate failure.

sounds like pressure plate problem. whats the history on your car? clutch wise? miles? stock? aftermarket? etc

Kevin
So trickyazn brought his car to my garage and I just had time to actually looked at it. There were no fluids outside or inside. His Slave Cylinder had no leak and it was getting little movement when I depressed it so I was assuming it could be two things, A) famous firewall breakage or B) a leak from the CMC to the CSC.

After inspecting, I found the problem, its his clutch pedal, the base of the pedal from one side "cracked" and broke apart from the rest of the unit which is only riding on one side to hold down the pressure of the CMC which is why it gave him the loss in pressure as the pedal flexes when he depress the pedal down.

Anyways, I'll let the pictures do the talking

Firewall is fine, no sign of crack on the frame.

I used my visegrips to put it together to see if it can be rebuilt by welding the points and it seems like its possible

That's crazy. Thanks for an update.

What do you think made that happen?

Price isn't bad.

46910-SNV-A21 013 001 PEDAL, CLUTCH 142.35 99.65

Might as well get a new one from the dealer.

Thanks for the help Kevin! I was so glad I was only 10 miles from his garage or else I wouldn't know what to do.

Wonder how to prevent this.

Just wondering if everyone with a HR em1 CMC could potentially have this problem.

I am the Juggernaut!!!
You're not the only one that this has happened to, another 8th member local to me(02civic_rida) had the same issue. Replaced the broken one with a new one from Honda & all is fine now.

Mike
Would you say the stiffer pressure plate or the stiffer cmc caused this?

I would the em1 is super soft, but this is coming from a omni cmc user.I have a comp stg.4 and the omni cmc.I completely destroyed my last pedal assembly. So now im back to my old standby em1 till i get a clutch with a softer pressure plate.
