Sorry super newb question

Hi guys, i've watched the x-intake diy video, and this is a very stupid question but, I still don't know how to reset my ecu.

Is it... remove negative terminal of battery for 10-15 mins, turn on engine, for 5 mins without gas/brake, then turn off? and plug back in negative terminal? or is it

remove negative for 10-15 mins, put back on turn on engine for 5 mins without giving gas or braking and then turn off?

remove the negative terminal, wait a second and reconnect it, start the car and let it idle for 10-15 minutes. make sure you have the code for your radio or you'll have to take a trip to the stealership.

Engine won't turn on without negative cable connected.

Oh about that, I have a stock navigation, and i hacked the splash screen, would I have to redo my screen? Thanks.

You may not have to. I do not have the navi, but when I had my battery disconnected, I had to enter the code and reset the clock, but all of my personal settings were still intact.

I've been looking into the splash screen hack myself. Doing my research I believe you would have to redo your splash screen, but I'm not sure.

The splash screen is saved to the CMOS, which I would assume has an internal battery backup (like on PCs). So maybe what I saw on the youtube tutorial was wrong, he said if you mess anything up disconnect your battery to reset the navigation.

I've haven't done the splash screen hack yet, but there is a difference between what I've heard and what I know about CMOS regarding your situation.

Let me know how it works out.
