303 High Tech fabric guard vs. seat?

Okay so I just bought an Si, woohoo!

I want to protect my seats while they are brand new. So I bought a bottle of 303 High Tech fabric guard but when I read the instruction, I came upon that:

Directions: Material should be thoroughly cleaned and dry. Spray until evenly wet, overlapping spray areas. Allow treated fabric to dry thoroughly before use. Protect adjacent areas from over spray. Immediately wipe up any over spray before it dries. Note: 303 HTFG can be applied with an approved solvent type sprayer, brush or roller. Not for vinyl, clear vinyl, plastics, rubber, fiberglass or imitation suede.

So is it safe to use on the seats? I asked the representant of what material were made the seats and he couldn't answer

the seats will go white pretty soon.... Id just use that fabric protectant.
