Si And Premium Gas!
Lookin to buy a 08 civic si.
The required premium gas is gonna kill me. Considering im 16 years old and get paid about 130 bucks a week. and the way gas prices are now who knows how bad premium will get. Is there any way you can put regular or mid grade in? 87 or 89? Instead of 91? |

The 11.O:1 compression ratio requires 91+octane fuel. no way will you get away with anything lower. it will retard the engine. and $130 a week will not cut it. you'll be struggliing as it is with $4 gas.

U can put in 87 or 89, but its not good for the engine and WILL eventually cost u some $$$$
Before anyone says ur supposed to use 92, 93, 95 or whatever ur "premium" octane is, in Cali the best we get is 91. |

im selling my truck.
2007 ford f150. thats how im buying the si. and how will 130 a week not cut it? 4 dollars a gallon x 13 gallons =52 bucks and a tank should last me a week. that leaves me 78 bucks to play with so why wouldnt 130 bucks a week work out |

Dang I want to be 16 again with a 2007 f150!
Good job... But yea you gotta stick with premium...But with an SI and all the Vtec I anticipate you doing....The gas numbers might be a little skewed. When I vtec it often on a tank, I get 24 mpg's. On an easy tank, I get in the 27 to 28 range. Food for thought |

Well i guess you'll find out when you go to the stealership. but i think theres no way they are gonna cash out on that F150 and you give you an si for pennies. because that ford isnt gonna be worth over 20k now and the SI is. the dealer can make more money if they keep the SI and sell it for 24k. they will not be your friend, unless you work there.

what kind of responses would you expect by saying that you want to buy an si with an income of about 400 a month |

unless you somehow have one of the following:1. extremely good luck at the lotto (but then, why are you buying a civic if you won 1 mil+?) 2. parents will pay the balance of what you'll owe between the trade-in and si cost 3. you got a major raise / new job 4. extremely influential friends in high places |
