Anybody Have this specific problem?

When I am about to make a turn, sometimes I leave it in Neutral rather than 2nd and slow down to turn and if its kind of a hard brake the car shakes kind of like ABS is kicking in. When I mean hard brake I don't mean anything NEAR where abs should be kicking in. Anybody have this problem? I also had to replace the passenger side rear strut and now I think the driver side strut is popping once in awhile when I cost at like 20 and make a slight turn. . 08 FA5 with 5,000+ miles

Are you driving over any bumps or sand when the ABS activates? It's a pretty sensitive system and the slightest slip of a wheel triggers it.

Also when abs activates you can feel the brake pedal vibrate and move up and down, do you feel this when the symptoms occour?

Well if you are turning and braking a little hard, yeah I bet its just the abs, or rather, not that sticky of tires.

There's one particular off ramp I take regularly and on this ramp there is a bump that I can't avoid when I'm braking and it almost always causes my ABS to kick in just a little. I'll bet it's normal.

You should not be turning in neutral period. Braking shifts your weight to the front of the car. Furthermore turning in neutral shifts even more weight toward the front of your car and will induce oversteer. I suspect this is the reason your ABS is kicking in, you're upsetting the balance!

Although it is less severe in a FF car, you'd learn fast and quick in a FR car that turning in neutral is a NO NO!

If this is a hard 90 degree turn like at an intersection, accelerating during the turn is not a good idea. Plus, he said he's in 2nd gear and still slowing down, so there's not much going on to induce under or oversteer anyway.

If he's taking a corner at 30mph, he's got other problems besides ABS activating.

You should never be accelerating before the apex anyways, regardless of the severity of the turn. I did not mean to sound like accelerating before the apex at any time is a good idea, because it is not.

I don't mean it in a severe oversteer snap, but seeing as how it's a 2nd gear turn, it can be anywhere from 20-60mph. What is certain is that while braking, weight is being shifted forward and when he takes it out of gear the car is unsettled, whuich can be enough to induce over/under steer

The ABS in this car sucks. In my STi it was almost transparent as it should be.

I'd say it's normal if you're hitting a bump while braking.

Like others have said, the ABS system is pretty sensitive.

There's a small bump on a manhole cover on a corner here that trips my ABS every single time I hit it when braking.
I haven't tried disabling VSA to see if there's a VSA condition that's causing the ABS to kick in... but it's possible.

I turned off VSA tonight and hit the bump before the freeway entrance (you are braking as you hit it) and ABS still activated.

VSA and ABS are two entirely different things. VSA utilizes brakes, ABS is ABS... It is normal for ABS to activate whether or not VSA is on of off. Come on guys....
