How can I love my car?

With 2nd gear not going in most of the times and 4th gear grinding, and 3rd too O_O WTF? Who else is feeling my pain? I can't race my car anymore... Oh well I guess that's a good thing isn't it..?

Do I need to change my tranny fluid? Will this fix my 4th gear grind!?

Explanation of my 4th gear grinding:

Everytime I am going over 7600 RPMs, I press the clutch, when I trow it into 4th, IT GRINDS loud, yet it still goes in gear... I do not power shift my car anymore because of this... I heard its bad... but why why why!? My friend says my synchro is probably damaged.

Well most of you know about my 1st gear not going into 2nd at all if I am racing... I think God is trying to keep me safe.. who knows?

Same man. I used to have 80% of my fun romping around the streets in 1st/2nd, I've completely stopped doing that in 1st since 2nd grinds like crap all the time.

Man this is so frustrating... Considering the fact my 1st and 2nd don't even have 5000 miles... I used to be months without the grind... now it just happens like crazy its stupid!!! Can't wait for new job so I can trade in for an EVO or something

Been there. Done that.

But I can't resist loving the car when I look at. Or drive it when it's not acting like crap.

I was one of the 1st people to complain about the 2nd gear grinding......no grinding for the last 24K miles.

Not rushing confidently into 2nd ftw !

Slowly yet confidently putting it into 2nd ftw !
I try that sometimes but still... I still think my problem is my clutch not engaging the right way... yet my clutch shows no signs of it being depleted. I am going to hope is not my synchros.

Yea that's my next task before my warranty is up... My car has almost 52,000 miles! Hopefully that would fix the 4th gear problem. A friend of mine said he changed his tranny fluid because he had the same grind as me, but in 3rd gear. He said it solved the problem for about 3 months before it came back.

well there is your answer. I don't know you in any shape or form or mean to be a d*ck but by the maturity of your post. Ithink you don't know how to shift.

Also, when they open up your tranny and see chipped teeth from your synchro, your f'd! Warranty won't cover you and they will say you abused the car. All in all you are done for. unless there is a miracle they they somehow fixed it under warranty. They can just run a reading from your ECU and if they see that high rev alot, then that will be theri proof of abuse. Anyway GL!

Beat ont he car but dont beat on it everday.

Well, actually, Honda's syncro set in the Si blows, because a ton of people have had problems with third gear (and others).

When they redid my transmission for the fix for third gear (which, by the way, hasn't really changed much at all), my syncro was destroyed for third gear. The others were fine, but third was ripped to all hell. I saw it.

So that tells me that the OP is fine. And as far as judging based on grammatical prowess and shifting...I think you'd find the effect size to be rather small. The correlation between grammar and shifting ability probably doesn't have much in common.

how's your clutch? if you beat on your car, your clutch is probably pretty worn at 52k and a burnt out clutch can cause gearbox woes

Kinda hard to forget that your Honda transmission needed to be ripped apart at 20,000 miles to be fixed. That's a bit unsettling, if you ask me.

When I get a few extra dollars, I'll buy the Amsoil, but that's far from the only issue afflicting my car, sad to say.
