Looking to buy an 08, hoping to get some feedback

Hey!

I just graduated and figured I'd treat myself to a new car, and Im really considering the 08 Si. I was looking through the option list for the cars, and there is a suspension upgrade for 1800 (CDN) is going for this worth it? does anyone have an opinion for the OEM stuff, versus this, versus something from an after market company.

My main reason for considering this option is because ill be leasing the car (tax write off for my business) so i know modding the car is a 'no no'.

Also if anyone else has some tips or advice feel free to suggest :)

Get the Si, you won't regret it.

As for the suspension, I believe the price you listed is a joke. I wouldn't buy it for that much but I would (personally) stay OEM with parts. I've always been a fan of OEM and plan to keep my car OEM.

I'd shop around for the HFP suspension and buy it separate. The dealership I bought my car from wanted an extra $2000 for the HFP kit and I just got it and had it installed for ~$800 less than that.

Good luck!

Since it will be a lease Im just worried about having the car modded and bringing it in for maintenance.

That being said, i've also been thinking about doing a cold air intake or something. Because its a pretty easy job to reverse if need be. If i took it off woudl they have anyway of telling that it was on

Believe it or not, I think a CAI is allowed on leased cars. If you do it right, it doesn't affect the engine at all so it's still under warranty(at least on my 07 Altima which is leased). As long as you can prove that the CAI didn't cause a problem.

Si is a good choice, but I will be the one to suggest you look elsewhere for your car choice, look at the other similar price range cars!

Yeah I had also been considering the Lancer.. which has better equipment.. but not as much fun to drive IMO. and with Nissan and Toyota not having any 'fun' cars.. it really only leaves the 2.5RS, which is a blast to drive.. but has 0 equipment.. and honestly the 08s look hideous. hahah

The car is ok, it rattles a LOT and has lots of irritating noises. The seat is very hard and it's hard to stretch your legs out while driving. It really has the fit and finish of a base civic but you're paying 10k more just for the motor/struts/wheels/brakes/seats. Anyway, If you want something comfortable look for something else. I regret not getting an Accord. Slow as it was, it would have been so much better for daily driving and road trips. I should point out that I live in a city where it's almost impossible to drive faster than 40kph during the daylight hours.

The lease is pretty good on the car, I got mine for $330 a month. for the last 4 months they were offering a 1.5% lease rate. I think you missed out on it.

Too much trouble. It would be much easier to just go ahead to apply all bolt ons you desire... then remove them and revert to stock when you return the car.

Man... seats must be a really person specific preference. I've been extremely comfortable in my Si and my old Del Sol's seats. When Im visiting family I end up driving my mom's 98 Accord and the seats kill me. So uncomfortable.

It's just hard as a rock and it has no tilt so it really only supports my butt in one spot and has no thigh support. I like the seat back though.

seeing as how that is a $600 option here in the states, and the exchange rate is 1.0116 ($1 american = $1.01 canadian), i would say absolutely not, and whoever is charging that is crazy.. some guy also said the all weather mats are $280 in canada? thats an $88 option here, which would be like $89 in canada

but that's not what dealers pay for the parts up here.. (not counting install)

go check the prices yourself

Honda Canada

I totally agree that you can get it for cheaper if you get it from the states and install it yourself but you aren't going to save much at all if you take it to the dealer to have it installed after paying duties, taxes and brokerage fees to buy the part from the states.
