Absolutely, positively, with no equivocation, and having all malice of forethought:

NO.

_______________

On the other hand, since I'd hate to give an answer that didn't stir at least a bit of controversy:

Can any car use E85? - AutoblogGreen
_______________
NO.

Sure if you want all the rubber parts in your fuel system to totally degenerate....

Ethanol is just an illusion.

I don't why government is supporting it. They ramble on how it will save alot of gas... what a load of BS. All the machinery and the process to make ethanol is burning more gas than save by at least a 3:1 ratio.

Kickbacks and Corruption with the corn farmers, the ehtanal producers and the big three car companies that scam EPA credits for "flex fuel cars" that almost never ever use e85.

The benefits the big 3 get for making flex fuel cars piss me off, esp GM who just started making most of their cars flex fuel and tout about it in their stupid commercials showing the land barge Tahoe and calling it "green". F*ck that. I'm not biased agaonst american cars, but that sh*t makes it real easy for me to understand why someone would not like them.

And who the f*ck voted this pig green car of the year????????? I thought it was a stupid internet joke when I first read it.

How about no, not without majore modification to your fuel system. Some cars are directly convertible to e85, like for example all 1g dsm cars (mine runs on e85) but it is designed to, gets much better dyno numbers too. Our cars thoug, no, not designe for it and you really only see improvements on F/I cars anyway. Talk to some of the turbo kids, maybe someone over there has done it.

My car is e85 compatible, but there is only ONE filling station that I have heard of in MA.

Interesting bit about the 1g DSM's.

Making fuel out of corn is not smart... bad crops=high food/fuel costs.... increased fuel demand=increased food costs (everything uses corn.. from corn flakes to the corn used to feed chickens)... It's funny when you talk to people in the energy industry what's going on is that there is plenty of oil to go around (even though it's screwing up the environment) BUT the low lying fruit/easy to get fuel (clean and you don't have to dig too deep is in the middle east). The oil companies in the US haven't built new refineries in 30 years because it's expensive (& environmentalists) and the last time they did the price of oil plummeted thus they lost money. Oil companies think it's more prudent to keep the staus quo and high profits with oil from Anti American countries rather than make new refineries/working with environmentalists in the US and lower their profits through increased production.

Not to sound like a tree hugger or a oil addict, I think we should go nuclear fusion or something similar (no nuclear waste).

Price per barrel of crude is going up due in most part to the traders. Thank Wall St for f#cking everyone.

E85 is indeed a heap of crap. Yea, its a renewable resource. Yes, farmers benefit from it. But if you know the farm industry at all, you'd know that the government subsidizes farmers to not plant crops in order to keep the prices in balance.

I used to work for a company (shall remain nameless) that makes the E85 injectors and fuels systems for one of the big 3 (nameless). E85 only has half the BTU's of petroleum based fuel, so in the end it is actually less efficient.

Worried about fuel cost? Get a Prius and a man-gina.

There is even a nice Govt report that states the e85 EPA credits idea was a pure waste of time and money. Thus allowing the Big three to just produce the same high MPG cars and they never use E85.

The Hybrid GM Suv is pretty neat not for the hybrid part but on how technical the tranny is. If I understand the tranny it is a two speed CVT and a traditional 4speed tranny all in one. Neat! Just a two gear CVT system would be awesome for the little r18 and perhaps the those who would want an auto Si. First gear CVT could be optimized for 0-60mph perfect for town and back roads. Then Second gear CVT would be set up for perfect Highway speeds 60-90mph.
