33whp and 30wtq from hondata reflash and DCRH!!

Well i finnally got my ECU back this moring from Hondata. Its everything i hope for and more! The drivavbilty of the car is awesome now, no more hesitation and alot more mid range pull and top end power. The midrange is were it gained the most power and thats nice because everytime you shift to the next gear you land righ in the peak torque section, i gained over 30whp and 30wtq between 5000 and 6000rpms!! The dyno will show 3 different runs on one chart to compare the difference in power each mod has made, all on the same dynojet dyno. from stock i have gained 34whp and 31wtq with Only a custom 3'' exhaust and DC race header, hondata IMG and reflash. This was all done with factory intake!! The strongest run that hit 200whp and 144wtq was with the addition of the DCRH and the reflash only!! . not bad considering it was 100.F in their today, damn texas heat. Well anyways, Its worth it, heres the proof. enjoy :w00t:

Scanner is messed up will post dynographs soon.

so 200 usable whp ( in the racing rpms). looks great for the mid range but mediocre in the rpms youll be at in a race. That would definitley help on the launch though....30 more whp right at 5k rpms. nice.

Huh? That midrange is mean. If anything, you'd WANT more midrange than the stock. Hondas are known to have a bit of a drop-off just before VTEC engagement. If you want more low-end, go buy a Cobalt. Honda's live in the upper RPMs all day.

looks like that 3" exhaust did just fine. How does it sound? I cant remember what muffler you said you were using. Is it 3" all the way back?

I cut a big section of the dcrh out in order to make it shorter and get rid of the small diameter piping it had, from the new flange it goes threw a 2.5 inch opening magnaflow center muffler then to the stainless 3'' mandrel bent pipe then threw a large 3 chambered 3'' dynomax muffler. It sounds fairly stock at idle but when you get on it it sounds deep and agressive. I wanted the flow but not the loud noise.

That midrange is sweet.. I wish they could get that kind of midrange out of the car in stock trim. I'd be all over that reflash.

Midrange does nothing for racing, except for the initial launch when you go up to the optimal RPMs. In races, you should always be in the optimal range anyways (6500+). What Hondata helps most in terms of racing is the fact that the rev limit increased to 8500-ish. If you notice, the horsepower keeps getting better even when it approaches the limit. Thus with the reflash your optimal range is extended and peak HP heightened.

But yeah, that midrange is nice to have in every day gunning =)

looks good man! That heat must really kill the motor. Mine was ran at around 70 some odd degrees with e fan about 20ft from it and it pulled 182whp stock on a mustang dyno. Im getting a reflsh right now too. you know, i notice you say the lag is gone. I noticed that in my rsx and my buddy got the reflash and it was gone too. I have the SC on mine and it still has that little bit of lag for that split second at a really low rpm when daily driving. I hope this reflash hits hard. should get a good 20-25 whp on top of what i have. good to hear man!

u crazy...
the boost is at vtec...when it kicks in at 4500rpm...it spikes
rev limit is at either 8500 or 8600...can't get a correct number as last time i checked on hondata's site it had 8600 and then 8500 lower down the page.

thank you, someone apparently sees what im talking about. You dont use mid range in a race...period.....unless its a launch.

Dude.... idealy you dont want to feel the vtec punch. with a well tuned vtec motor you wont even feel it kick anymore, just a constant smooth pull. the rev limiter has changed to 8600rpms but looks like around 8750 on the tach

Hey ...forgot to ask, but does your redlight redline warning blinker, change now? Instead of it going at 8k, it being at 8.5k?

OK I may be confused, or just reading this in the wrong sense. Did you say that you have a supercharger on your Si, or that you have an RSX with a supercharger?

Also the lag he refers to is due to the Si having an electronic throttle body versus a cable actuated in the RSX. When an RSX drive stomps the gas, that throttle is instantly pen, an Si driver on the other hand has to "wait" for the throttle to be opened by the servo in the throttle body. Indeed you may have experience a decrease in lag, but the lag we refer to is of a different nature and has to do with the function of the throttle body.
