Royal Purple is great oil. I'd recommend it. Also it's dyno proven to add like 3/4 of a hp

I saw a segment on Power Block TV and they did a comparison test and found that it gave them something like 10hp extra.

Personally, there are better options out there. You're buying oil for the wrong reasons if you are basing it on "gains."

no Royal Purple....

Mobile 1 with m110 filer = lexus smooth idle & 2nd gear pull sounds like a super charged engine pull....

I highly recommend it !!!!

car feels like day 4 new.

i swear by it!!! and that powerblock show had more than just the oil. it was a camaro (i believe) and they swapped out ALL the fluids/lubes with royal purple brand. they dynoed the car before and after the royal purple treatment, and it literally had almost 10 more hp just from all the Royal Purple brand lubes. That...and the fact that a few of my buddies who are mechanics use the stuff...convinced me to try it and so far, I loove it. might even try the tranny fluid. i'm gettin desperate with the 3rd gear troubles

Here is a discussion about RP and a few other synthetics over at Bob's. It looks like the major complaints about RP is that it doesn't meet all the certifications which might cause warranty issues and that it doesn't seem to have any additional proven benefit for the price premium. But as you can see from the posts, everyone has their preference and they all probably get the job done just fine. Rank these synthetics in order.... - Bob Is The Oil Guy

At around 5,000 miles I switched to RP 5W30, and have since used it for the last 2 oil changes in my 07 SI. I noticed that I have consumed less oil, and the car has had a smoother idle as a result. I attributed this to mainly being a synthetic grade oil and the characteristics they yield over conventional oil. Independent lab results placed RP below several other brands such as Amsoil. My honest opinion is that it is a good oil, but will be trying Eneos 5W30 my next scheduled change.

So we can use this oil for draining and refilling the clutch fluid with RP? I have 16,000 miles on my car and planning on changing my clutch fluid on my 4drsi.

No do not use RP for clutch fluid! He was talking about RP manual transmission fluid. use it as clutch fluid and you'll be ******.

I am sure some asshole will come on here and school you on using motor oil for tranny fluid.
I will not. I topped off with royal purple and my car turned Rally Red. 3rd gear troubles go bye bye.
