they would probably go with regular oil... you can request a better grade like synthetic if you want just guna cost you more.

If you do get a discount, it won't be much. Most of the cost of bringing it in is labor, overhead and disposal fees.

Your dealer will just use whatever regular oil is listed as recommended on your car.

doesnt hurt to ask... i got some buddies at jiffy lube and when I'm in a hurry I get the hook ups, buying your own oil is not cheap however.. I used 6 bottles of mobile1 synth and oil filter is cost me around 50 bucks...

not for my civic yet but when I do my first oil change I think I'm going with synthetic.

Yes I used 5W30 Mobile 1 synthetic on my Evo and G35's... great oil... heard of other stuff that may even be better but normally I'll go to an autozone to buy oil..

brands like royal purple, redline, etc...

everyone here is talking about 5w - 30. what if i live in south . like lousiana. i just purchased some 10w- 30. also, i just need to add a bit of oil. what if my stock oil that is in there is 5w - 30? will it be bad to mix these two types? someone plz help.

ps. the manual did mention 10w- 30 as an oil type for when temps do not go BELOW 20 f , which is me.

The manual and the engine oil cover mention 5W-30 engine oil.

Funny that my dealer's sticker for when my first oil change was due says to use 5W-20. Idiots can't even label their own cars properly.

Make sure that you read up on the crush bolt (I tihnk that's what its called) that requires replacement every time you change the oil if you take it to some Jiffy Lube or something.

Personally, even though it's going to cost more, I'm doing all of my car work through Honda...just feels safer.

But make sure they use 5W-30 if that's what your car uses. That, or politely remind them.
