if you are redlining in third intending to shift into 4th and you accidentally throw it back into 2nd your rpms are going to spike through the roof and so will your engine.

in that case...its not Hondata thats causing the mechanical problems...its driver error thats causing all these problems.

Please provide a link to what you're talking about. I have never read anything that would make me think that the reflash is bad unless you don't pay attention to what you're doing while you're driving. You can damage your motor in that way just like it is. It doesn't add additional stress, the driver does. Just b/c it's a lower vtec crossover point doesn't mean that it controls your throttle.

I cant understand how you can misshift, especially since you drive a stick almost everyday. I always know where I am shifting into.

ok we are getting a little of topic...but to answer your questions it might eventually wear down your engine over time since it is putting extra pressure on your pistons etc...

How is it putting extra pressure on the pistons and such? Everything works the same, there's no tune, no added power, same thing happens with the reflash as it does stock, just that the reflashed car does it sooner.

Hondata will not cause blown or damaged motors, but careless drivers will. The one thing about the Hondata that has to be remembered is that the rev limit has been raised to 8600. You are not in the danger zone, but are getting close. I know that a couple of times, I have overrevved and bounced off the rev limiter. My brain fade, not the car, was the problem.
