Honda and 3rd gear

I went back to Honda today and took a test drive with the technician again (4th test drive). The 3rd gear wouldn’t go in, and popped out. They want to change the MTF, and if that dosent works they will change the transmission. I also called up Honda and filed a complaint, so hopefully they will start getting involved with this issue and call a recall eventually.

Maybe HOA just doesn't know what to do with all of this since they have never had a performance issue before. They may not have that kind of dept at corporate.

Well they better open one. Six years is six years to long for people to have to deal with this shit.

Honda needs to pull their head out of their asses. They put this same tranny in the 2008 Accords, and people are starting to have the same issues in the Accords.

What's it going to take to get Honda to fix their massive error. That could be a huge, huge, huge cost for them to fix lal these cars.

great, hope they fix it for ya. more than likely they'll replace the synchros and 3rd gear, not the whole tranny. if they do they tranny and it has the same parts as the old one, then well....i think you'll have the same issues....

Haha, I love you guys.

I'd be lying if I said I'm not incredibly upset over the way I have been treated by my dealerships, but I'm even more upset by the way I've been treated by American Honda.

I've had two case files over this problem. I called to complain the first time over how I've had the car in the shop so many times for third gear and I couldn't get them to replicate it. I wanted American Honda to help me work with the dealership. Kenitra (the only person for my area who works at American Honda apparently, as they won't let me work with anyone else) is the rudest woman I've ever dealt with. She told me she couldn't do anything without the dealer replicating it, and even if there WAS a fix, which she said there isn't, I'd need to get it replicated: I don't get an "freebies" from Honda, as she said.

Unprofessional beyond any company I've ever dealt with in my life, including Comcast, and let me tell you: that's saying something.

I love my car, and I love the vehicles Honda makes, but I will seriously have to reevaluate my feelings before I ever consider purchasing another Honda vehicle over the way they have treated me (both local and global) over this issue. I expected more from a Honda. I can live with the rattles. I can't live with a faulty transmission and a company who is lying about it and refusing to acknowledge it. It truly is a damn shame. Truly.

It's just so frustrating, and it doesn't help that we don't have unanimous support on the forums for it. I wish more people would call and complain and register their case number/etc on that thread I made...

I can't help it. Activism runs in my blood. My hatred for corrupt bureaucracies and inept, arrogant corporations who have sacrificed customer satistifaction for excessive profit runs deep. If I were more than a college student, and more financially well off, I'd be crusading against Comcast and American Honda more than I am right now.

I hate big business, and I hate that they can get away with murder, while we, the people who pay their salaries, get shafted when they fail to life up to their promises.

agree...comcast blows...but theyre cable modem is faster than the DSL at&t offers here so thats the only reason i stick with those bastards...way overpriced in all areas so they need a good competitor to bring those prices down but they're no where to be found.

It's not so much their product I dislike, it's their awful customer service.

That's how I feel about the Civic as well. If the dealerships or American Honda would treat me better, rather than belittling me and making me feel stupid for wating their time over a problem that "doesn't exist", I wouldn't complain half as much as I do.

I think it's disgusting, however, how they handle customer service.

This week i will be getting a fully rebuilt tranny as well as a new clutch (not that its needed but my service advisor said "well we might as well") At first he was gonna just do the 3rd-4th gear fork but again said "well we might as well since were gonna have it open" so he decided to do em all... i cant wait!

I left my car today at the dealership, so maybe they will fix the problem. I also called American Honda and made another complaint.
