OK sure!, i can live with this for a few months if it means that i can have a good car from here on out.
You are the ideal rolemodel for everyone who is going through this transmission problem. Patience is a virtue.

This worked for me. I printed Vince's original post and took it to my service manager. He gave it a quick read, made a phone call, and told me he would call back as soon as they got the official word from Honda America and had the parts.

You have a good dealership.

One of mine pretty much laughed at me when I said I'd print out about 500 pages worth of 3rd gear complaints.

My Honda dealer replaced my second and third gear syncros. Problem is gone.

On the service memo it states Transmission overhauled.

i really hope my new civic si sedan doesnt have this problem.. i ordered it on the 14th, so maybe it will have that new fix already in it.. i wonder how long it takes to make, and what % of the wait is them actually making it (or waiting for it to be made) and then what % of the wait is delivery (or sitting at the plant already made)

alright well i just came back from the dealership for an oil change, i told the guy about the recall for the 3rd gear. the guy immediately asked me if i was having problems with it so i said no, but there's a recall on it. the guy said that he did not know of any recall so i told him to check Honda of America. Went in and checked but there was nothing that came up besides the other recalls...

I feel like punching babies when people tell me that if I switch my MTF it will fix it.

It may help it or ease it, but it's a transmission flaw. Haven't the babies suffered enough, people!?

Too funny Mike. Yes, the babies have suffered enough. Time for Honda to get its collective butt in gear and fix that 3rd gear issue once and for all.
