It eats me alive wondering whether the issues I've had with my transmission have heavily damaged my car. Above that, providing a fix ever comes out, what fool is going to be ripping apart my relatively new 20,000 mile transmission and replacing intricate things. I've heard horror stories about this. |

Oh and BTW it's been 6 weeks since I put the Amsoil in and not one single grind or pop-out, and this during some pretty nasty cold spells (Florida). It still does feel a bit notchy sometimes but I wonder if that is because my "aim" as I move the lever into the 3rd slot isn't always perfect. 3rd has always been smooth as butter on a downshift (heel and toeing/rev matching helps). I'm at 19K and it still studders but its faint enough that i can catch it before it pops out. Its more of an annoyance, than anything else. I'm also only running the newer Honda MTF. I'm swtiching to Amsoil this spring.

Given the difficulty so many of us have had trying to get them to even ACKNOWLEDGE our third gear issues with stock equipment, the SS seems like one way they'd skirt responsibility.

My car is going in this weekend for yet another complaint about this problem. - I don't again anything will come of it, but I figure the more they are aware of the problem maybe they will realize this needs to be addressed. Everyday on my morning commute my car fails to shift 2-3 times, it almost 2nd nature to me now, but I'm REALLY getting annoyed with it.

Here in San Diego on then news last night they talked about the Si and its 3rd gear problem ON THE NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They talked with a Honda rep who said they are still working on diagnosing the problem and they interviewed and SI owner and they showed how his 3rd gear would just pop out of gear....
