Thanks for the info. I'm actually really familiar with Man Honda, been there a bunch. Only about 20 a minute drive. Manchester is also where the closest Acura dealer is to us. Hopefully if none of my local dealers don't do anything, then they will.

Given how stubborn and uneducated the dealers are, it wouldn't surprise me if it took an extra month, presuming a fix ever even came out, for them to actually go ahead with it on my car.

I'm not holding my breath. Honda has proven its true colors to me, in my experiences so far.

All I needed to hear was the woman from Honda of America tell me that I was the only person who ever called to complain about third gear.

any new news on this tsb with them replaceing the guts in the trany? i have a ep3 and i have a rsx transmission i want to install but am holding out till this tsb is out. so they can replace all the guts internaly.

i am from germany and soon I will import a Honda Civic Si to germany!

I'm not understanding all what u r writing.

Can anyone explain me, if there is already a 3rd gear fix out or not?
What will be done by the fix? A new transmission? Is the Honda Dealer in Germany also ready to do this fix or are there any new parts needed for doing the fix?

My brother bought his RSX at the acura in Manchester...

Personally, when I bought my old Civic, it was from Executive down in wallingford.

As of now the 3rd gear fix is not out, but we hear that its coming. As for the dealer in Germany, you'd have to ask them if they would be able to get the parts. As far as I know the EU doesn't have the US coupes and sedans, and I'm not sure if the hatchbacks use the same transmissions. Once the necessary parts become available at out US dealers, you can then take the part numbers and ask your dealerships if the can import them and honor the warranty and have it fixed for free. Disassembled a second time and added a shim but made it worse. They ordered a new tranny; put it in today. Happy to report, problem is gone, third gear smoothly engages as with all other gears. The part number of the original defective tranny is PNN4-1013621. The new tranny installed is PNN4-1015503. Good luck to everyone.

Did anyone skip over this post? It just seems everyone went right by this ... any one that works at Honda that can look up that part number and give us the details?

You know what I think is funny with all this?

When I went to test an '05 civic the tranny was so smooth. I made a comment about this to the dealer who told me that Honda had a reputation for their good gear boxes.



It's too bad that they didn't keep this attitude in mind. If I were in Honda RnD I would have taken this more seriously if my company was known for its shifting.

I'm going to the dealer tomorrow morning to drop off the Pilot for a service, and again on the 14th to drop off mine for the 15k service, if I find out anything official I'll definitely post it here.

went to the dealership yesterday and they told me they're not going to touch it because there is not TBS on it , but when it comes out they will fix the problem

And the only tsb out this year so far is the one for the DX,LX,EX adjustable camber kit, not for the Si
