when you vtec

do you always take it all the way to redline? if not it seems like whats the point in taking the revs that high?

You don't HAVE to redline your car everytime you V-tec .
But since our car's HP potential is achieved at 7800 rpms red lining is a good thing.

I will go near the limiter (8600 rpm) sometimes, but not most of the time. The point is to drive the car as the situation demands, and situations differ.

If I pound it I would take it to redline. And it keeps your car in the powerband.
