I just put mine in. The shifter feel is nice. You guys made it seem like it was God's gift to imports though lol.

some of these people may have not had a short shifter before, severely overrated if you ask me. Learn to row the gates, i dont recall muscle cars having short throw shifters?

I got mine yesterday. It definately takes some effort to get that little blue cap off. I layed down a towel in front of the shifter before I pulled off the cap so it wouldn't fall down into the console. Sure enough, the cap pops straight up into the air, misses the towel and falls in the center console. Luckily it did not go far, it was sitting right by where the cable goes thats connected to the shifter. I just stuck my hand in there and was able to grab it in my first attempt. With that and it taking a couple of minutes for me to get the cap onto the comptech SS, it took me 15 minutes flat to install.

Then it was on to the test drive. Chirp, chirp, chirp is all I heard. Even when I wasn't trying to chirp 2nd, it would do it sometimes. I must have burned two bars of gas just messin around with the short shifter.

sorry to revive a head thread, but i had a question. How does the SS feel with the DBW? DBW is the thing I hate most about the SI

yes. I installed the SS first and did some errands. LOVED IT!!!! Then I came home and installed the bushings. Did not like it at first and only tolerate it now because I basically have to (once they're in, they're not coming out!). They make it realllly tight to get into 1st and 2nd but I think they'll break in a bit and loosen up. If so, I'll be very pleased. If not, I'll eventually pull the bushings out.
