After spending enough money that I could have paid my car off by now, I'm fed up with modding and finished doing so. I'm really happy with what I have done to the car and I realize that unless I spend way more money than I care to, I'm not going to get the power I'd like out of it, so now I'm just going to enjoy what I've got until I've either paid enough off or saved enough $ to move up in hp.
So I'm curious, has anyone else gotten to the point where you finally say "I'm done. No more parts, no more $, not gonna boost or boost anymore." or am I alone? April '08 Edit: Funny how 6 months ago I said this and now I can't help but want to make my car stock again. I'm officially done modifying cars. The next one gets wheels and tint. That's it.

Dawn, don't quit now. You are on a roll. I am just starting to mod mine. The problem with modding is that it is never enough. There is always something else you can do. Nevertheless, I understand.

I don't know why I feel this way. I love the car, love driving it and lord knows I baby it enough but I can't help but think," I need to pay this thing off so I have a decent down payment for the next car." I'm either going with a Camaro, CTS, 33? (whatever is available) or an Infinity next. I think I may have gotten whatever I needed to out of my system this time around.
If anything, I'll do wheels & exhaust on the next car. The only one what would get a massive anything would be the Camaro and that would be a supercharger.

Dawn, the Camaro would be hot. Definitely one of my all time favorites and the new one coming out is a great take on the original '69 model. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Dawn, Baldwin Motion will come out with their own variation of the Camaro. Back in the late 60's and early 70's, Joel Rosen of Motion Performance, worked with Baldwin Motion to produce the shagnastiest cars ever to hit the street. They even offered an aluminum headed 454 with a tunnel ran and two Holley 660's in a Vega! Ran low 10's right out of the box.

Some dealers are supposedly taking deposits and writing up contracts to sell at MSRP but no price as of yet.

I currently have a modded G35 which takes care of my need for speed. My Si was originally purchased to be a dd, but little by little, I am beginning to mod it too.
I do miss the power of a V8 muscle car. Nothing quite like it. 2009 should make for an interesting year with the Challenger, Camaro and possibly a Boss 302 Mustang. Shades of 1970. I feel like I am back in my last year of high school.

You don't need to pay off your car completely to make a down payment. Depending on how much you have paid off of it now, the car could be the down payment.
For example, if you owe 12k left on the civic but the dealership offers you 17k on the trade-in, that's 5k you have right there to put into your next car, right? |

No, unfortunately not. I got one of the early G35's in 2003. The 6 speed came out 6 months later. However, it is the lightest of all the G's weighing in at a relatively svelte 3,300 pounds.

BTW, I understand that they will use the 400hp LS2 motor in the regular Camaro and possibly the Z06 motor in the SS version.
