Identifying Fake Mugens

how would you know if someone is trying to sell you a fake mugen and they had all the same modifications like the lip kit, wheels, suspension, badges, ect.

A Mugen Si? I would think a telltale sign would be the VIN#.

Other than that, it's just knowing what real Mugen and fake Moogen looks like and making the distinction between the two.

Also, if you are looking at Mugen. They will only be on Sedans not coupes. The little change tray on the inside will also have a stamped Mugen badge on it.

Quick comparison. I went out and found a normal FA5s VIN and a Mugen Sis VIN.

FA5 ......... 2HGFA55547H700751
Mugen Si .. 2HGFA55508H700764

I think they just pulled normal FA5s off the production line.

Are the Mugens made in Japan or Canada? Im assumugen they are made in Japan.

engine and tranny Japan.... along with teh wing and kits. Interior is def Canada/US

that one is a definate fake. or they took stuff off. no front lip,no mugen pedals,doesnt look like its sitting on the mugen suspension either. my 2 cents

Front lip has to be installed by the dealer, and those are the pedals the Mugen Si comes with:

Well I have a friend that has an 08 si sedan and when he tryed to insure his car they registered it as a mugen si at the DMV and he only as a regular HRP civic si has this happend to any one else

u probably saw that picture from a Mugen RR. mugen pedals can also be purchased online for an Si.
