emissions testing on our cars..

So as i'm thinking about the race header i KNOW i will fail..

BUt my friend who has a lx who is into cars, says that when we bring our cars in he eather said we didnt have to..but i know we have to..he said that OR they just connect a computer to our diagonistics, and it goes in a list format..

So my question is..If thats the case, wouldn't be still atleast pass? cause i asked him if they do a sniffer, he said they don't.. they just swab your gas tank..

Please enlighten me.

As long as you don't have a CEL (and don't perform a sniffer test), you will be fine. AS LONG AS THEY DON'T LOOK UNDER YOUR CAR!

If you do fail..Is it like a fine? or just a fix it ticket?

Emissions testing (at least in Wisconsin) is privately owned. They could file a report with the government...or just fail you on emissions. You never know.

jesus i feel like i'm asking retarded questions..

1) how how do i know if IL is privatly owned,
2) when they file a report with the gov, what does it usaly consisit of? Fine, ETC
3) fail means i just gotta go back right?

1)Call them as ask!
2)Not quite sure, but the fines "can" be harsh.

not a bad route to go....

easier than re-doing the WHOLE race header install which isnt the easiest thing
