its the drive by wire, since there is not throttle cable it takes the computer an extra mili-second to respond. No problem just something you need to get used.

I actually think Honda did that on purpose, but most of us wished they rather hadn't. It can be a bit annoying.

I found this "feature" annoying at first. But then I quickly realized that the added delay really does help when you're trying to switch gears really fast (i.e. you're racing) because the RPMs are still running high.

But it also takes another milli-second to respond if you let off and gas it again. A good racer doesn't completely let off anyway.

It's not bad at higher rpms but its really annoying for driving around a parking lot.

BTW it's not just due to DBW because the 03+ Celica have DBW and do not have this issue. My friend has an EVO IX however and it does the same thing. I've been told it has to do with emissions.

And after today I can confidently say that Honda's DBW SUCKS!! in bumper to bumper traffic. I was stuck on the highway in a traffic jam maxing out at about 11 mph and the DBW caused the car to buck like crazy. No matter what I did, other than declutching every single time I let off the gas, it would buck. And I'm used to DBW as my previous car (MINI Cooper S) had it too.

Honda has some real programming problems with this setup and they need to be addressed. I can't smoothly and slowly feed in power - it's more like an on/off switch.

R18 doesn't do that crap. Sorry just thought I'd throw that in. I'm sure There will be a new ecu soon though.

Cool

man i love the fact that the rpms hang, especially if you wonna speed shift, but i will admit that slow, traffic driving is annoying...
