07 si top speed

hi im new the 8th and just got a nhbp civic si coupe and was just wanting to know what the actual top speed is. ive been reading here a lot and there are various speeds people have reached and dont know what it is for bone stock si's. i've read 157, 122, 140,145 i'm confused. has anyone just went and did a top speed run until it didnt go any faster and if so what was the speed? are the 06's faster than the 07's? do the 07's have a governor? any info is much appreciated. thanks

ive been 136 and had to slow down. tov put it on some machine and took it up to 157. now thats without wind resistance so you can take it from there. i would say probably around 145. that was on a 06 but i doubt there is a difference.

Pretty sure the 07's are limited to 130 MPH (or 5700 RPM in 6th, just before vtec)

ive heard 134-5 mph, but if you want to use the lift in 6th gear, its nothing a hondata reflash wont cure, in case you wanted to break the barrier so to speak

i never thought of that. i was still pulling alright in 6th. now it was not as strong as the others of course but i was still picking up speed.

not so sure about if it voids the warranty havent checked but...

what it does is: (taken from hondata.com)

if you wanted the highlights i bolded them

The K20Z3-06Si reflash lowers the VTEC point to 4500 rpm, advances the cam angle and raises the rev limit to 8600 rpm.

We have implemented a VTEC window from 4500rpm to 5800 rpm.

* Below 4500 rpm the K20Z3 is always on the low cam
* Above 5800 rpm the K20Z3 is always on the high cam
* Between 4500 rpm and 5800 rpm the K20Z3 is on the low cam at part throttle switching to the high cam at full throttle.

This one reflash will work well with a variety of aftermarket performance parts. It will work well with:

* An intake
* Cat-backs (as long as they are less restrictive than stock)
* A race header *
* A combination of intake and race header

You must have a minimum of an intake or header (to use without choking)

hope this helps

So is the Si gear limited at this speed? Or electronically limited?
My R18 Civic is electronically limited to 125mph. It can hit that speed with passengers and wider tires. Well the tires are 1/5" larger in overall diameter. 225/40/18

the 06's arent limited. its just that 6th gear is so crappy that the car just cant pull through the wind resistance. Temple of Vtec posted a vid of a 06 si on the dyno with the camera showing 157 mph on the speedo and thats what it will do given theres no wind resistence.

edwyn(male)
Stock(reflash takes away governer)
06=157
07=135

Its been proven, why is the 07 limited I dont know

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showt...ight=top+speed

It doesnt matter though the reflash takes off the governer and Im pretty sure most of us are getting a reflash or aftermarket tuning sometime

07 dude= why is my SI speed limited?
06 Dude= http://videos.streetfire.net/video/7...BCD755FE0F.htm

All I see in that thread is a bunch of people proving that the car doesn't have enough power to continue going in 6th gear?

I think I need the reflash or something because my 07 si sedan does not go over 122. it just stops with so much more to go.

the car has enough power to go all the way through 6th, 6th is just geared for fuel economy....not racing.

how many times does it have to be said?
