you cant ignore the thread though because if you actually want this intake with each new post you are hoping for news only to check on it and see a bunch of bs there for it should be locked until they are ready to take orders, it been over a year so whats the point

They need to get rid of all of their banners in the magazines till it's actually out.

It has been scrapped. They on working on a different kind of intake. No more power chamber. What I think they will do is import the m&m aswell and stick there name on it.

Idk who merged the original thread and the excelerate thread but that was a dumb move. Excelerate was selling them while we were having a discussion on it.

That was a DC5/EP3 power chamber, that wasn't an Si in Super Street, it was an LX with a K swap (k20 block and k24 head) and most importantly it had no MAF.

So I highly doubt it means anything for an intake for our cars. Stupid MAF....

yeah I know my boy had one his dc5 r.....and yes I know it wasnt a si....but I think that intake basically would work with our cars...except the maf.....I wonder when comptech/ct eng.'s intake is gonna be here maybe ill just go with that in sick of the Injen CAI I was hoping one of these intakes will create a little more power so I can justify switching from a CAI to a SRI im just scared because I dont wanna hydrolock this winter

Well the MAF is a big deal, sure it can fit, but that's the least of their problems in designing an intake for our cars. Neither CT-E, T1R, or Mugen Intake will produce much more power than what is already available for our cars, they are intakes they shouldn't be expected to produce big gains. What they will hopefully do is offer an intake that offers more drive ability not and not just +1-2 peak hp like your CAI.

As far as hydro locking, it is not something that happens easily and as long as your not deliberately driving through HUGE amounts of water, most likely you will be fine.

would this be a good thought or no. if we took a ep3/dc5 c/f powerchamber intake and where the intake tube comes off the throttle body and goes to the carbon fiber box, right before it would connect throw a MAF housing in there and connect it would that be a possibility or does it have to be at a certain spot of the intake to work correctly??

hm. do you think technically we could buy the power chamber for the dc5 and then lets say use the new aem MAF that was released. and just put it in between the throttle body and the chamber itself.? thus making your own?
linky to the part i was talkin about http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/bolt-...-rev2-cai.html
the chamber it self would fit i think.

discuss

Before I got my Injen CAI, I was going to get the DC5, use the MAF from my X intake, and then get the P:JDM battery relocator and call it a day. Then I figured it's better to just get the setup I have now.
