indeed..but when factory airbox hackjobs supply adequate proven-again gains, people might start to wonder to themselves:

what am i waiting around for again?

and its no mystery that X spent some time, especially on the MAF mod, before putting this whole kit together for 8th drivers...
...with all that being said and known, in a sense, an efficiency of time vs. apparent market demand might come into question...

unless we happen to be really really hooked on carbon fiber chicken thighs....then the wait won't bother us.

Well the Password JDM Intake hasn't been released so we can't make claims yet. This is the Password Intake GB, not another brand, so we will have to wait and see what is produced before any assertions are made.

i never said mine makes more power, as right now it would only be a opinion because there are no dyno sheets for that intake yet. judgeing by the pics that i saw in the other thread its looking like a nice peice. i might add that i purchased PWJDM's battery relocate and kevlar plug cover

I have a feeling that some one from Password has been on these threads checking out the research...we saw the finished piece in the other thread and they said they were still working on a piece for the MAF. Maybe they are making their own Xintake housing.

You have no idea what this new intake is going to do. You're working with parts that are already designed, just modifying them. Not to mention the process to make a carbon fiber part, you just cutting/shaving off plastic from a stock part. I can build your "kit" for $100. Hell anybody can. How does $300 justify the 3 hours of "work" that you do? But then I'm sure you're flow testing these pieces and acquiring the most accurate flow readings and porting these units to the very slightest detail. </sarcasm>

I applaud you're money making scheme though, its brilliant. Good luck.

Sorry for the threadjack.. continue on. I hope to see progress of this part and positive gains.

I have to agree that the price is a little steep. If it was around 225 shipped, it would be the perfect price. It would be well worth it and I would have ordered two already.

haha, you have no idea how MAF's work, and as me and doug from hondata already dicussed, the vanes are a vital part to the operation of the car to run correctly. my price is hella low, you cannot build my kit for 100 dollars. the apexi alone is 80retail. but nice try. BTW skunk2 will be working with hondata for a flash and will incorporate my intake.

You should sell the design to skunk2. It would save you alot of work and make you alot of money and skunk2 would be pleased and I would be more comfortable buying it. No offense.

How come not all cars with maf's use vanes? Why does our car require it?

I am pretty sure that whether or not the vanes are used depends on stuff like the intake piping. Different tubing with different bends and shapes makes for all kinds of turbulence and each car needs a different way of smoothing out all that incoming air in order to meter it correctly. Correct me if I am wrong though.

Any word at all recently on when this intake may become available? I have noticed they are advertising it in Honda Tuning as if it is already available.

And just out of curiosity, not that I would try this but would it even be possible to say buy a DC5 Power Chamber and mate it with say one of xfactorwrx's modified MAF housing and have it work correctly?
