Si Warmup stuttering worsening?

So in the last few months I've noticed the stuttering more and more. I don't know if it's me driving other standards and not noticing it with other cars or what, but it's really starting to annoy me (especially with guests) when the car stutters when I give it gas in the first 5-10 minutes. It's not when shifting though I do see it a lot after shifting 1 -> 2...

Is this really by design or should I get it checked out? It'd be hard to get it checked out because if I drive it to the dealership the car would have been warmed up and won't show this. It seems to me almost like a throttle lag or the DBW really needs some tuning up so it's less sensitive. Anyone have any advice or tips? Thanks!

Thanks for replying... it's been like that since day 1 as far as I can remember. And it seems like people have mentioned it around here too (casually). So I was hoping if someone found a solution for this or has had experience with this.

Happens to me too. It is annoying.

I try to make time to let it warm up but often times I just have to get in and go.

when i get in my Si after it has been sitting for like 4 hours plus.. it revs at likle 2K for aabout 3mins.. i don't even need to give the car gas when im in first.. just let go of the clutch and the car starts moving smoothly..

never happened in my 2006 lx

is this the 'rev' hang that everyone talks about?

The rev hang is when you push the clutch in while driving the rpm's stay the same for a little while. They should drop almost immediately.

And mine does what you're saying as well.

haha everyone whos posted on this thread is a noob, do a search and you will find your answer.

for you lazy folk: the cars does that when its cold theres not much you can do but let it warm up or shift to the next gear at a low rpm.

Thanks, I was hoping to find out if anyone actually spoke to Honda about it before. There's also nothing wrong with being a noob.

Funny, I was wondering about this same thing this morning..

My car stutters and lurches first thing every day.. esp. between 1st and 2nd, thought it was my bad driving!

you need to warm up the engine until there are atleast three bars and your revs drop

Stick your hands in a bucket of ice to bring them to less than half body temperature. Than try to write a sentence or draw a picture. They work as well as your cold engine

I have had a little of the same situation with my si, I live in a mild environment so it is not so bad at all when it is warm, but when it was cooler, i just let it warm up for a minute or two, just turn it on , don't waste any gas giving it gas , if you just turn it on for a minute or two before you drive it will warm up and the idle will adjust automatically. This is all the idle adjusting. Idle should be around 700-800 rpm's after adjusted, somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this is correct.
