Exclamation do you engage reverse without using gas? Am I causing damage?

Since I started driving the si ive been engaging reverse on level ground without using the accelerator. Seems the computer injects just enough gas to keep it running stable and you just have to release the clutch slowly til its in gear and you're off.

Am I doing damage to my clutch or any other part? Would it be better if I gave it a little bit of gas?

All your doing is pulling the clutch out until it catches..from what i under stand it wont hurt if your like doing it here and there, but after awhile you'll start to burn out your clutch. Just give it a little gas, and once the car gets going backwards put the clutch in, and you can roll out..I do that when pulling out of my garage.

It won't damage anything significantly. There's less clutch slippage without the accelerator, but the differences are minimal.

The only possible damage would be from the engine stuttering, but you'd have to have it stuttering for a long time for that to happen. I don't apply gas much, if it all when reversing.
