HFP questions
I just got a quote for a '07 HRP SI Coupe with the HFP kit. (Quote was 23,900) Do you guys think this is a fair price?
Does the Honda website list everything included in the HFP kit? It appears some of the HFP items are missing. I don't understand why you can't get the MSRP from the website? Can someone tell me the best interest rates they have heard of through Honda? Because my credit is better than excellent. The guy mentioned 6.9%, to me that is high, I am not paying that much interest. I thought I heard 2.9% before? Quick story, I have been to the local dealer at least 6 times, (probobly more). I was worried about being hounded by the salemen at first. Well, the only time I have ever been talked to was when I went in with my mom! The guy says "thanks for having the courage to come in" LOL WTF!? Anyways within 10 minutes we were test driving a SI. My mom pointed out on the drive that they didn't even take my drivers license (or see if I had one, or ask our names). Also the time I went with my mom was a saturday, I think the only time I went on a saturday, that could be why also. Any help would be appreciated. Oh...if these question have been posted a bunch of times, sorry. Last edited by Tommygun43; 06-04-2007 at 03:28 PM. |

If you have to take your mom, then you don't have good enough credit to get 2.9%. Furthermore, you can usually only get 2.9% if you are financing for 24 months or less, and then 4.9% for 36 months, and goes up like that.
For MSRP of the HFP parts go to: www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and go to the accessories link to see the MSRP of all the HFP parts, suspension I don't think is there, but the MSRP on it is $800, and sells for $600 usually. [They also have the best prices, but usually won't ship bigger items, but you can explore that later, there are dealers out there that sell parts for 30% off MSRP and ship for normal prices (even bigger things like the HFP kit).] The HFP Package includes: Aero Kit, New Coilover Suspension, 18" Wheels, and an axle back muffler (which isn't bad if you get new mid and down pipes). All in all, that's like $4K-$5K for the whole kit, but you can see the prices on that website above. Also, install of aero kit is approx $250, install of fog lights (if it has them) is $250, Muffler is probably $150 installed, and suspension is probably another $250. So, you have to consider labor too. Good luck! And dealers are horrible people, I'm 24, and still don't get taken seriously when I role Hans Solo. |

Let me get this straight, your saying there is a stipulation that if I show my mom the car I want then I can't get a good interest rate? Huh, interesting. Are these terms set by Honda?
Anyways thanks for the info (seriously). My credit score is 834. I still wonder if $23,900 is fair, seems a bit high. Last edited by Tommygun43; 06-05-2007 at 12:45 AM. |

I honestly don't think interest rates are too good on cars right now. I got my Si May '06 and only took out a $5500 loan over 48 months and got a 5.74% rate, and that was the lowest available through Honda Finance for that term. But that's just my story.
