Two General Questions

1.) I looked in the owner's manual, but I think I may have missed it if it was inside it. What miles are the regularly scheduled "tune up" or "maintenance" mileage at? Like, the 15k and 30k service?

2.) I know Honda is cool and issued a settlement giving us 5% back on our warranty for excess mileage recorded for all vehicles ~2007. I know the date everyone was supposed to get the letter of the settlement was in May I believe. Why have I not received mine yet.

Thanks much.

1) well not sure about the mainteance, but the first tune up shouldn't be until around 110k or something on most hondas

2) I thought the milage thing only affected 05-06 cars?

I suggest signing up at: http://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/

There aren't regular tune-up intervals, except to adjust the idle every 160,000 miles. The Maintenance Minder System tells you what to do through a series of codes that display near the oil life indicator.

Trust the Maintenance Minder System. It is there to serve you and your Si. Here's what's suggested for the the Maintenance Minder System codes on my car:

Adjust the valves during services A, B, 1, 2, or 3 only if they are noisy.

Inspect idle speed every 160,000 miles (256,000 km).

Independent of the maintenance minder indicator in the information display, replace the brake fluid every 3 years.

Maintenance Minder A Scheduled Maintenance
Recommended service for your 2007 Honda Civic Si:

Replace engine oil1

If the message "SERVICE" does not appear more than 12 months after the display is reset, change the engine oil every year.

Maintenance Minder B Scheduled Maintenance
Recommended service for your 2007 Honda Civic Si:

Replace engine oil1 and oil filter
Inspect front and rear brakes
Check parking brake adjustment
Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
Inspect suspension components
Inspect driveshaft boots
Inspect brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
Inspect all fluid levels and condition of fluids
Inspect exhaust system
Inspect fuel lines and connections

Maintenance Minder 1 Scheduled Maintenance
Recommended service for your 2007 Honda Civic Si:

Rotate tires

Maintenance Minder 2 Scheduled Maintenance
Recommended service for your 2007 Honda Civic Si:

Replace air cleaner element
If you drive in dusty conditions, replace every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).

Replace dust and pollen filter
If you drive primarily in urban areas that have high concentrations of soot in the air from industry and from diesel-powered vehicles, replace every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).

Inspect drive belt

Maintenance Minder 3 Scheduled Maintenance
Recommended service for your 2007 Honda Civic Si:

Replace transmission fluid

Maintenance Minder 4 Scheduled Maintenance
Recommended service for your 2007 Honda Civic Si:

Replace spark plugs

Adjust valve clearance

Maintenance Minder 5 Scheduled Maintenance
Recommended service for your 2007 Honda Civic Si:

Replace engine coolant

Edit: This is TMI, isn't it...
