Use a quality product. I recommend this stuff here http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/g2/caliper_paint.jsp .....so far it's lasted one year

Just did mine over this weekend - easy!! Bought the Dupli-color Brake Caliper Paint kit at Pepboys for $16. I have two jacks so I did each side one by one. Removed all four tires - didn't remove the calipers but since i masked off the areas - it was a cinch. Took two days (one side a day) but I was doing it at my leisure. I love the look.
