HFP Front Lip Problem.

I recently installed the HFP front lip on my sedan. I followed the instructions word for word, and everything came out looking good. However, I noticed when on the freeway, I hear a rattling sound coming from the front. Obviously I cant point out the exact area that it is coming from, as this only happens at 70+ mph. The one thing I did not use in the supplied hardware was the optional spacers, I felt no need for them. I know without being in the car its hard to say, but does anyone have ideas and or suggestions? Any would be greatly appreciated.

first time hearing of the front lip rattling. Are you positive its coming from the lip and not something else?

Check the undercarriage trays. If you didn't get the little pop/clicker things (for lack of a better word, I have no ******* idea what they're called) installed correctly the lip will be mounted to the undercarriage tray but nothing else to keep them in place.

That's how it is on coupes at least, so I'm sure the sedan is the same. It sounds like one of them may not be secured so the whole thing is flapping around at speed.

Thanks, that sounds like a likely culprit. I know that there were long retainer clips, (thats the they're called :) )
and short ones too. I may have some switched around.

Well, if you only hear the rattle on the freeway, something's not secured down. I'm not sure which spacers you're talking about, but maybe try installing them? Also, is it a constant rattle?

Does any part of the undercarriage move freely when you push on it when you are underneath the car?

I presume the spacers came for a reason, possibly to create a gap between whatever is making the rattling noise, as they knew it rattles. I say install the spacer and see what happens...
