It’s broken!

Hey everybody,

Just wanted to post my excitement, my Si passed the 600 mile mark on the way home from work today! Finally I can start really breaking this engine in.

The car has been great, I’m very confident that no other car on the market could have fit my needs so well.

Scott

I drive at most 20 miles a day. This has been a verrrryyyy lonnggg breakin period for me. I have only went up to maybe 5k at most and it's so tempting. I am still only at 300 miles.

i was in vtec as soon as i took my Si off the lot (and mine had 33 miles on it prior to me touching it, which means it was probably ripped up on those test drives). every honda believer knows that these engines can take a complete thrashing and not even sweat it.

you dont live long and you cant take your Si with you once you're gone. become one with the vtec and treat her the way she likes it with the short time you'll have with her.

I couldn't help it, I tested my vtec out a couple of times before breakin period. When breakin period hit, I really had started to have some fun.

I tried to slowly bring RPM's up at medium throttle for my break in. Off the lot I shifted at 4K, and everyday I brought the revs up 500/1000 for my shifts. I wanted to make sure the car was broken in over it's entire rev range.

I'm still not WOT, but I did have a little more fun today. I just want to make sure I do this right because I want to drive this car for 10 years.
