Question Comptech Short Shifter Bushings...

So I just ordered my Comptech SS. I remember reading somewhere about some bushings or something that people were adding to improve shifting even more, but of course when I search it now, I come up empty handed Anyways, where can I find these "add ons" and are they completly neccessary?? Thanks in advance for the help!

corsport has shifter bushings, not comptech. Also, check out the TWM short shifter since it comes with bushings too...

Well, I already got the Comptech....I thought it was the only one out. Oh well, the reviews I have read were pretty good.

Anyways, what are the bushings called?? What do they do?? Also, is that the only other thing I should get?? Thanks again!

there are two sets of bushings. the 1st set are cable bushings, which replace the rubber @ the cable junction in the engine bay. the 2nd set are aluminium base bushings, which replace the rubber ones that the shifter sits on under your shift boot. there are several DIY's on this website and we do have site sponsors that sell these. I believe CorSport USA sells the metal cable bushings, while TWM Performance sells the base bushings. (at least that's how it was at the time I purchased these). if you look at their sponsor threads, they both have well detailed information on installation, and these threads also have responses from many people who have tried these. personally, they eliminate a lot of "play" from shifting, causing the shifting experience to be more crisp and mechanical. combined with the short shifter you purchased, it just makes u wanna go faster

Its easy to say corsport and twmperformance has bushings people he asked where to get them...

corsport cable bushings - http://www.corsportusa.com/store/cat...612ad7c6a6ee76

and TWM now offers a bushings kit which includes both the base and the cable bushings - http://www.twmperformance.com/bushingkits/index.htm
