One Month Later & What Mods Has Anyone Done? Sponsor Help Ideas?

So it's been one month since I have owned my 07 ASM Si. I found this forum that same week. I joined these forums, posted some crazy thoughts here, and I thank everyone for there support. I knew I would work through my "crisis" and make the right choices. I always do. Yes, at first I regretted my color choice, drove myself batty, and I posted in denial for awhile. But I feel MUCH better now. And I own an Si, so life is good.

I've been loving my Si allot more, and came to terms with my once regretted ASM color choice. I refuse to second guess fate anymore, I chose the 07 ASM Si, and it's one hell of a car, no matter what color it is. I could have done allot worse, price and all. Allot of people are jealous of my Si. Color is not as important as choosing the right car, I realize that now.

When the natural point in my loan comes, when the SI is worth the remainder of my loan, I may switch up to a new car with a different color, or not. That will depend on what new Honda/Acura product is out at the time, and my money situation. However, I will no longer consider taking a loss for color anesthetics this early in the game.

Or I may just keep this car as my daily drive now, buy another car later, and then turn my 07 Si into a project car. Indeed, why take a loss now just for a color swap? I would much rather save my money to jazz up my car in other ways, like speed, aero kits, and rims, etc. ASM is a good neutral color, if not my dream color. I just wanted everything to be perfect, and that's a hard feeling to balance with reason sometimes, well for me anyways. Now I find myself thinking "Screw the color, what can I do with this tuner happy car?"

I do find myself thinking more and more about the ways to jazz up my car. My dream list of things I may want:

18" Rims/Tires
Carbon hood
Carbon trunk (With a different non-ugly spoiler!)
Lower my car with a more sporty suspension
Cool Shifter Nob
Cool Gas Cap
Add HP somehow (I have little idea how, I'm not a gear head)
Aero kit
Stereo upgrades
Leather seats
Better steering wheel (I cut my hand pretty good on the stock one! Stupid plastic edges!)
Window tint
Cooler rear lights
Cooler front lights
Change that oval look to the Speedometer light with a piece of custom trim.

Well that's all my imagination can think of right now. I would be interested in what anyone has done to an 06-Up Si. Or what you may be planing, and which parts on the market now are best suited (And are of better quality). I'm starting at ground zero in my research here, so any help is much appreciated! Feel free to post pics!

Then comes the idea of sponsorships...I really like the idea, I would love to go to shows, who wouldn't? Sign me up for free parts! I just don't know where to begin. Any ideas for obtaining sponsorships?

Not to sound like a dick or anything but...

In most cases sponsorship means that you have to turn your car into a rolling advertisement for whatever company you choose. To me that means converting a beautiful car into a sticker'd (is that a word?) out cop magnet. Even after that you will probably only get a slight cost break. So to me it's not worth it. Now if you can find a company, usually a smaller one, who is looking for an Si to do some R&D on, then you can get free stuff. I think it's a little late in the game to find one of those.

There are plenty of company's out there now with some good products to add considerable HP, at a cost. My advice is to search these forums and find the best products. You can definitely trust the opinions of people on here since some of them have been doing this for years.

Just my .02:)

qft. your best bet is to hit up local shops with a strong proposal and at best you're going to get things at cost. almost nothing comes for free unless you're an absolute god.

Obviously you've never owned a show car or have built one for someone else so you don't have a name and reputation as someone who knows what to do in the show car world. Therefore, getting a sponsorship will be as easy as growing another foot worth of height. Borderline impossible without a miracle.

I painted mine bright orange, installed a 302 and straight cut gears for a really notchy feel.

So this is something only the garage guys do? Maybe if I do this one right, I will get my next Honda sponsored.

Ok, *put away flame thrower* bro, people here have done so many f'n things to their Si's that it's not even funny! Just look around the various forums here.

It would be an impossibility to list all the mods that everyone here has done to their Si's.

Take some time and surf the site. You will get more ideas than you can afford to buy (unless your super rich).

Have fun modding and welcome!

You know, I typed up this long cool post twice, and the dam board keeps timing me out and not posting it. I give up. Needless to say I figured out what will make me happy, and thanks for all the replies everyone. I'm basically living with my car un upgraded for 3 years, and trading up to a FBP Sedan. Then I will go on an upgrade spree. I had wonderful justifications, and reasons behind my madness, but I just don't have it in me to type all that out again. Peace out.
