2nd week of owning Si..quick question...thanks

Guys..I love my galaxy gray sedan ...it's the second week of ownership for me.. The question I have is did any of you notice a humming sound or a whining sound that is speed dependent. I can't hear it with the radio on at highway speeds but putting around, I can hear it. I am by no means complaining, but I was wondering if this is normal with 650 miles on the odometer or not. ps here is a pic of her...not a good pic but I haven't had a chance to take a good one yet. I appreciate the help

Don't know if this will apply to you.. but if you do a search on "wind noise" you'll find a lot of ideas and solutions.. like this one..

When im at high speeds I notice sounds coming from around the front left speaker. The speakers arent blown due to the fact that I turn the Radio off and still the same noise coming from that area.

Kind of on the same topic as weird noises, but I was wondering if anyone elses rear view mirror rattles when then are accelerating at below 1500 RPMs

Only time you should be at or below 1500, and accelerating, is if you are in first gear, maybe second. Sounds like you're LUGGING the engine, STOP.

I hear the same thing, its just the nature of the beast.

When your in any gear but 6th, you will hear it.

Put it in 6th sooner and you won't hear it as much.

Of course, don't lug the engine.

Okay guys...I'll just keep an eye out to see if it gets any louder. My last civic was quiet, so I'm not use to tranny noise. Do you think it's the LSD that's making the noise?

its normal--nothing to worry about, they all do it. Those of you who might not hear it probably don't have good enough hearing. :)

Seems like I'm not the only one....good to hear...with a new car...you just don't know whether or not something is malfunctioning or just a function of the components

Sounds like the famous (infamous) A-Pillar rattle - if you live in a cold climate it gets much worse below 32 F. Try this - locate the weatherstrip/molding that runs up the left side of the windshield - on the outside - push down firmly on this molding from bottom to top - if you hear 1 or more 'snaps' then the molding has been seated properly. This reduced my A-Pillar rattle significantly - but did not make it go away completely. I've ordered new clips for the inside A-Pillar garnish and am going to remove it and take a look/fix anything that could be rattling.
