Thank God I'm 06.
Over-rev sucks. As much as I hate to admit it, this happened to me. I was redlined in 4th on the interstate and mis-shifted into 3rd instead of 5th. I got the clutch back in pretty quick, but it still major over-revved. Its been a couple months, no bad effects, thus increasing my faith in Honda and increasing my humility that anyone can accidentally do a stupid thing. In Celicas if this happens, bye-bye lift bolts and more!! This used to come up once in a while on the Celica boards. |

hmm, im pretty sure its not 2007 that made the top speed 133mph. I am only able to hit 133 when getting to about 8200rpms. Then 6th is like hitting those brakes. My car is 2006, but i did hear half way through 06 they changed some settings. not sure.

that guy driving your car is an idiot. He should not be allowed to touch another car....EVER! I could see once, ok he f'ed up. But twice in a row!!!! what a f'tard. I'm going to call BS on the 161 mph also, unless you had it on jackstands.
The valve train in a K20A2 was built to handle 9K rpms stock, and the limiter was set to 82-8300 rpms. So I'll bet the K20Z3 is the same way. The hondata reflash for the K20A2 pushed the limiter up to 85-8600 rpms. Does anyone know what the reflash for the K20Z3 pushed it up to? Where does it have VTEC kicking in? 52-5300? |

LMAO....jackstands @ 161 mph...I'd pay to see that Hondata flash lowers VTEC engagement to 4500 and rev limit to 8600 http://hondata.com/reflash_06_civicsi.html |

As for 161 mph, do what I did and take a video, it's the only way people here will believe you! |
