MPG Chart
Here's a chart of about a years worth of driving in our 07 Civic EX. Took a trip at 2,500 to 4,000 miles. Mostly 50/50 town/highway driving, with more highway driving starting at around 15,000 miles. The ScanGauge helps us be more aware of our driving habits. We use Mobil 1 oil and K&N filter. I think I'll pump up the tire pressure to see what effect that has. Glad we bought a Civic! Ken.

I hear the 0-20w Mobil1 synth is the best for this car. Does anyone else use this with positive results?
And I wouldn't worry too much about your mpg right now. Just concentrate on a good break in. Everyone seems to report pretty bad mpg until after the 1st oil change. Its just part of the process. Mileage will continue to improve as it continues to break in until you have several thousand miles. I bought mine with about 28k mi on it so I never had to deal with all that |

I am at 28.5mpg almost religiously. Thats with 40 miles a day 29 highway and 11 city. I hit VTEC no less than 6 times a day. (Its why I bought the car afterall)
I have hit almost 32mpg on a tank by driving very subdued. I had just gotten my first ticket in it. But a month or so later I was back to my normal habits, just not going over the speed limit, but getting to it in a hurry. |

I managed 37!!!!!!!!
Driving from Atlanta to DC on less than one and a half tanks of gas. I love this car. Just stay under 70 and use cruise a lot and you will see an insane jump in mileage. When I drive an average of 80 or over I only get 32 max, but if you are 65-70 you can easily get near 40. If one was to stay under 60 on the highway I believe 40+ is achievable. |

BTW, I'm able to routinely get 40-42 MPG on the ~160 mile trip from my house to Los Angeles International Airport. Amazing since the drive back included a cold start in traffic and then stop-n-go for the next 15-20 miles. I keep it at 65 except for coasting down hills where I'm willing to let it go to 75 before I'll drop it back in gear to get the advantage of shutting off the injectors. |
