The very last page of the manual tells you, although now you already know, but it is in the manual!!!!

i didnt bother reading any of the replys to this post because it doesnt really matter, you must use premium gas in a 11-1 compression motor. if you use regular you will eventually damage the engine.

BTW the reason you must use premium in your si, is because regular is more unstable in higher pressures or more flamable, this will cause the fuel to sometimes ignite before its supposed in a i high compression or boosted motor==pre-detonation= bad news. the premium fuel is more stable under higher pressure and will only ignite when the spark plug wants it to. hope that helps.

Now that the weather is getting warmer here in Ohio...

I am averaging about 35mpg (70% hwy - 30% city). During the colder months, 29-32 mpg was average.

I figured out mine in gallons - just under 1000km here (620 miles) and getting between 27.5-29 mpg

Interesting side note - they say in Canada the break in point is 500-1000km, whereas im hearing from you guys the breakin point at 500-1000 miles. Maybe it is then (if you believe in this stuff) 620mi/1000km ?

The manual calls for premium.... if you put regular in the tank the risks of you engine starting to ping... will increase..

I know gas is killing but premium is what it needs.... over all you are going to be paying 3-4 dollars more for premium per fill up... vs regular.....

I did my first check last night, 34mpg at a little over 1100 miles on the OD. I am mostly in stop and slow freeway traffic with a little "big city" driving too. Oh and about 50% of that is with the AC on.

my avg is like 26-27mpg with daily driving being short trips in the city, and weekend being highway driving and short trips again with 3-4 people in the car.

sedan ex AT, i dont know why it's so low. i usually get around 290-300 miles before the gas light turns on.

oooyeah, i have over 3500 miles now

My 06 civic lx has 6000 plus miles and I'm averging 39 mpg on the highway and 25 to 29 mpg in town. I live at 5000 plus feet in elevation here in Wyoming. I also use 87 octane fuel?

Hmm.. well it sounds to me like you're heavy on the gas if you're flooring it in 6th gear so thats why your gas mileage is poop.

BTW, 6th gear is a cruising gear. It is not meant for acceleration.

From the manual - Recommended: 91 minimum

For those folks on the west coast (like me) we don't have 93+ fuel here...barring the occasional 100 pump at a random station. 91 max.
