I just fill up. 343.5 miles on 10.2 gals. Works out to 33.7 MPG. EX SD MT w/6000 miles. Town and country driving mostly with some (60 miles) of highway miles. Can't wait for warmer weather.

I'm only getting about 7.5 km\Lt with my automatic, so I guess that's about 17.5 US gallons running in traffic jams with air-conditioning. I'm going to have words with Honda.

I bought a 06 Civic DXG in January. I babied it the entire time I had it. My driving is combo of city and highway. Without full throttle I did take it to 185 Km/h once and 160-165 Km/h a few times. When I filled the tank it always took 45 liters or very close to it. My mileage ranged from 650 - 672 Km.

I'm sure the civic DXG would get better mileage if the clutch and or trans gears were set more driver friendly. Driving standard transmissions shouldn't take the effort this new civic requires. I found 1 st gear a pain in the ---. Either you launch extremely easy (slower than grandma) or extremely quick. I You should be able to launch a car to maintain the same speed as granny beside you. I think Honda may need to install more gear in 1St gear. Once moving, the car shifts great into 2nd. 3rd gear can sometimes be a challenge to get it into gear. 4th & 5th no problem. I put 3700 Km on her and found shifted it QUICK into 3rd made it better. I couldn't find any common ground for 1st gear. I decided to trade it for an Si.

To my surprise the 06 Si gave me better fuel economy than the dxg. I'm on my second tank. The 1 st tank I got 727 Km and took 45.133 liters to fill. The Si never seen above 5500 rpm during this time. For the most part the engine stayed between 2000 -2800 rpm. I took it to 6000-6500 rpm today. I couldn't believe how powerful the engine sounded when the upper rpm cam kicked in. The Si is one impresive vehicle to drive. It is very comfortable, super smooth and easy to shift that any 85 year old Nun could pilot this car. I can't stress enough how much better the Si 's trans is. I would predict the mileage will drop significantly once the engine starts to see 8200-8500 rpm.

Well on my first and only tank so far I went 480 km before fillup but had 15 more litres left. However, even though its brand new, i tend to rev it up to 4000-5000 rpm (waay too early in its life really but i will prob sell before it's life gets that critical)


anyone have an estimation of how much you can get one one bar? i get as little as 10 and as many as 60km??

On 03-28-2006 I reported about 32-33 mpg on my '06 Civic AT sedan. That was when I hit a little over 1,000 miles. Now I just got past 1,600 miles and am happy to report that my mpg is going up--this time I got 35 mpg. I didn't change any behavior in driving (still mostly freeway). Can't wait till I hit near 40 mpg when my car gets even more broken in.

I got 404 miles from a tank on my EX yesterday. Worked out to 35.14 mpg. I was stuck at 33.5 mpg for a few weeks, looks like it is going up a bit. I have almost 4,000 miles on it now.

My first tank went 258 mi and took 9.xx gal to fill adding up to to 25 mpg. The car was filled up right off the truck and then test driven(by Me) and PDI'ed. It took almost a week for me to finally get to bring ot home. it had 6 miles during the test drive and 33 when I finally picked it up so I think it idled and was test driven by others quite a bit before I bought it. I am still tickled to death with it since trading in a 4wd durango that cost $50 every 250 mi.

regular = 2.35/gal X 13gal=30.55
premium = 2.55/gal X 13gal=33.15

Must be nice at either price, twistedframe. I paid $1.16 / liter for premium (reg $1.109) last week on my 1st fill up. The next day the price of reg went to $1.139/l. Prices are in Halifax, NS.

I think reg gas would be fine as long as the revs are kept low. Increase in temperature nets an increase in pressure. The higher you rev the more heat generated thus pressure, thats why the faster cars are revin higher. Revs and compression make power. How many 10 second second cars do you see shifting at 6000 rpm.

Have an '06 LX sedan, automatic, and my last two tanks of gas got netted 29.67 MPG and 29.23 MPG. The 2nd one (29.23) was after a little iVTEC'ing now that I'm around 2,000 miles on the odometer. :-)

GlennS - That's kinda low for gas mileage. Granted I have a coupe with auto, but I never got below 31 mpg since the day I bought mine. Hope yours improves,
29 mpg is no better than a Chebby Impala.

i have 700+ miles and on both tanks so far i averaged about 33 mpg with mostly highway doing 80mph, hopefully i get a lil better once im around the 1000+ mark

last fill-up, went 294 miles, took 7.9 gallons to fill = 37mpg, 75% highway, rest stop and go traffic.

i have a 5spd manula lx coupe. shift at 4k rpms from 1-2, 2-3. the alot lower from 3-4 amd 4-5......


i'm happy with it....

i have noticed milegae improving since new, i know have 2600 miles on it....

New mileage update, I have 3800 miles on my Auto Sedan. Last week I drove 466.6 miles, filled up 11.48 gallons for an average of 40.6! About 90% was highway, 30-60 minutes of traffic daily. Normal driving speed of 70-75. Not bad.

I would be more gentle on the car to save for gas, but hte car feels like its barely moving or dying when i just start it up or get of the break, or if you take your foot of the gas it cuts gears so fast that you feel like its about to stop. Anyone gotten used to this or suggestion of getting past this? esp for startup.

On my last trip, my fuel economy was great! 431 miles, 11.4 gal. for 38 mpg!

This was a lot of turnpike/highway driving, no A/C and taking it easy with the right foot. Currently at about 2K on the odometer.

I've had my car for about a month now and have 1000 miles on it. The best I've gotten is 28mpg and that is a mix of highway and city driving. I'm being pretty careful about not gunning it and driving too fast. I'm just chalking it up as it is a new motor and it needs time. I'm really going to try and keep the rpms down and see how that works.

What are "pinging problems"?

pinging is the engine predetonting, meaning b/c the compression is so high the air/fuel mixture is being ignited before the spark plug fires. this is very bad for the engine. As for your lx running anything but 87 octane is really just a waste f money.

87 regular will do the job for the "break-in" period?
