Comptech Usa is taking in my Si :)

So i got an email from comptech and they wanted to use my car for test fitting of parts, and for pictures for their instructions on installs. They are putting ont he super charger too and i guess they are going to dyno the car with each part to see some numbers. On the 17th im suppose to bring it there. He said they may let me drive it a few days or a week or something with all that stuff on there. Maybe i'll take it to the track if its not rainging and give them an idea of a 1/4 i can run with it. Everytime they bring a new parts out i guess they are gonna give me a call, rent me a car, and take my car for a few days to 2 weeks. Sounds good to me. So remember guys, your going to see some real numbers from comptech usa so visit their site and gfet ready to order some parts!

Wow, that's a great deal. I'm assuming that you're being sponsored by them. Good luck!

i talked to them about some parts. i said hey u know im not trying to screw u out of a supercharger but im thinking what do i get out of this u know? u guys are going to make buisness and wont sell the parts till u have my car done with the instructions. Im local to you so whats the deal? i talked to the parts manager and i guess maybe like springs, sway bar, exhaust, maybe header i dont know, they are working on an intake. Im not sure what all im gonna get. What i really would like is intake, header, exhaust, springs and sway bar and i'll be happy. But i'll see on the 17th when i drop the car off what the deal is with everything.

I was about to say, I thought their S/C was done and is waiting on final tuning and logistics. I can't imagine their Cold Air Box making any more than 2 or 3 hp, maybe 4 at the peak, considering the AEM intake makes 7hp peak and 7lb/ft tq. peak.

UPDATE!!

well they said they will hook me up with a great price bhte problem is im moving out so im going to need the money ... anyway UPDATE!!!

I i went down there today cause i had to drop off a piece and switch rental cars. Dropped the part off and i checked out the car. they had the shorty headers on it and the 2 1/2 inch catback which i might add is very nice. they have a 2 1/4 and a 2 1/2.. both dyno about the same with 4 whp on stock car. The shorty header they are going to make a new one because the header by itsself lost about 9 hp at vtec but got it back at the end but they didnt like that so on with a new one. They have a set of race headers ready now and for the 05 rsx-s put down 15 whp alone. its all about that damn cat. They are expecting 15whp from the si but maybe a few more ponies then that. So basicly if it comes down to that, a set of race headers ((which by the way u cant even see them at all when they are on .. cops wont know jack!)) and exhaust will set the car over 200whp because it was dyno'd at 182 whp STOCK!!! not sure at the torque i forgot to ask. They had a nice heavy duty rear sway bar complete and fit perfect on the car so they just got it painted when i showed up. So far so good.

Put it this way. i use to have an rsx-s (02) and ran a 14.8 with stock tires and an intake at a 2.4 60ft. got new tires falken fbk 451-r's 225/50/16 and a custom apexi catback i had made after i ran. i can honestly say i was around a 14.6 maybe 14.5.... my buddy had same mods but hondata reflsh and hit 14.2.. so this Si with tires, intake, race header, exhaust cant set it around a 14.2 for sure with a good 60ft. not to mention its dc5-r LSD then throw on hondata..well a nice hook up and a good driver i wouldnt be surprised so see a 13.7-8

The problem with making a shorty header for the Si is that the Si already comes with one from the factory. If they're going to do it, they'll have to do it better than Honda in order to make any gains. That 182 whp stock means Honda underrated the car, which doesn't make sense to me, because the marketing department wanted to print 200hp in their ads, not the 197hp. They were looking for a nice even number. But in any case, I'd expect the Si to pull a 14.3-14.5 with just a Hondata adjustment. Will be nice to see some 12 second times though.

What if they wanted to not totally dethrone the RSX by having it be equal in HP? Just a thought. Obviously the Si is better in handling and has LSD etc, but if it also had as good or better numbers than the S, it'd be hard to sell the rest of the Type Ss out there.

as for the stock header yes. they said its getting harder and harder to make a shorty header better then honda's factory applications. There just isnt much to a shorty header. As for the underating. thats an SAE adjusted hp. the si really dynoed at about 212 crank hp. nice fun car tho. as for a 14.4-5 with just hondata, thats very fair. when i get it back depending one what all i got i'll take it to the track to see what its at...

no eta on anything yet. Just testing and tuning and making more stuff.. The sway bar is done but i dont think its for sale yet. As for the race header when i asked he said well he have a race header up there ready to rock and roll(in the rafters) that we are gonna see what it puts out, but the cat is the key so we are expecting a decent gain. As for the super charger, man im butt ass broke trying to move out there is now way. i mean if they gave me a killer deal i might have to rob my mother haha. its well worth it but i couldnt tell you a price im going to receive it at if i buy it. As for the kit at retail should be around $3600 is what they told me but maybe he meant $2600 i dont know. Should be the same as the tsx. They are using the TSX super charger not the rsx-s. Im wondering how their sport or race springs whatever they make are going to work. Im also hoping i get that free ... also they mentioned something about a short shifter so i'll let you know.

Ok boys so here is the deal. I have the car back! it has the supercharger(stage one) exhaust, springs, camber kit, sway bar, and short shifter. It dynoed about 235-240 at the wheels with just the charger. Not bad and it pulls like a MOTHA! I cant member the torque im going to try and get some dyno copies. There is going to be a meet here in roseville, ca at D2 motorsports coming up soon just call them at 916-788-1374 and ask when it is. I think its this saturday or sunday. They are going to do a dyno pull with it also on the mustang dyno. Im going to try and get some pics i took with my phone up soon. Lets just say as of now, i got a few ponies more to the ground then a stock evo or sti .

Exhaust: Not available yet. very deep low tone. Very nice not high and crackly. Smooth sounding exhaust HGIHLY recomnded. Catback i think got around 5hp to the wheels alone no intake or anything which is just common but comparing it to others, the sound is great everyone loves it.

Super charger: not available for sale yet but coming soon. Stage 2 upgrade or reflash in a few weeks but as of now they are trying to make an affordable stage 1 kit that is bolt on no mods. Basically what i got now. Performs very well and MPG are still only about 1 under on my average driving.

Short shifrt: hell i havent drove the car in so long i dont even know the stock shift much anymore but i like this shifter. Its about the same height but a nice little throw, nothing crazy but smooth.

Sway bar and springs: AWESOME!! only drops you an inch but TRUST me u dont want to go much more then that especially if you have the HFP kit like me. Great stance though very aggressive. i also have the camber kit. Make sure you BUY the camber kit because people have been having tire wear pretty excessivly i guess so they threw a kit on mine to test it out. Very smooth ride and forgiving to bumps int he road. rides like stock smooth wise but put those tires to the ground in the turns as does the sway bar helping out in the rear.

I'll keep u guys updated and hopefully get some prices for u guys down the road. remeber hp numbers can change if they decide to make new parts. The shorty headers and exhaust make a combined about 10-12 whp. The race header is hoping to hit a good 15 at the wheels alone. The 06 type s hit that. Basically the headers, catback and intake should run you about 24-28whp. not to bad. we will see how it all goes. if you want to see the car go to the meet at D2 i'll bring it by on my lunch because i work that day. I may leave it there for everyone to see and just have someone take me back to work.

here is the exhaust while it was at the shop. I had pics but they all got erased so tomorrow if i havce time im going to snapp a few.

Nice teaser pic!

Interested in seeing the SC. Out of curiosity could you find out if the SC will be CARB Approved? Really want to get more power out of the Si, and a CARB approval will definitely put me on the "reserved" list for one of these.
