Civic LX vs Civic Si --- Backlit gauge color
My favorite color is blue, and I like the way the digital speedometer/tachometer is blue on my 2009 Civic LX.
Did you guys like red gauges in your car? If you had a choice, would you want the blue gauge lighting of the Civic LX? Or does red somehow makes the car more sporty and sophisticated? (or whatever reputation the Civic Si has among car enthusiasts). Thanks. ![]() Civic LX ![]() Civic Si |

The blue is cool. but it also comes on every sub model under the Si. Now, I wouldn't have a problem with the blue on the Si, but the red lets people know what ur rolling in. I'm a sucker for unique and individuallity.

I was initially disappointed that my Si had a red display and actually started to research changing the display. However, I have now learned to love the red. I also find that either color can be hard on the eyes during specific lighting conditions

i wished it was blue at very first but i felt after driving the SI a little, the red goes better with the interior and the aggressive nature of the vehicle further setting it apart from your normal everyday civic. so i like

I've owned an LX and now I have an Si, Blue is my favorite color too, but I like the red much better. Like it was said before, Honda chose red because it's an aggressive color, which is the same reason why red cars usually have higher insurance rates, where as the blue is a calming color and make you want to drive slower (it didn't have that effect on me though). What makes me like the red display more though is because it's red on red, and when the sun hits it, it becomes red on black. It's easier on the eyes at night as well.
