No more 2010 Si's? [Threads merged]

So I have been searching for a 2 door 2010 Si for weeks now and nor myself or any of the dealers in my area can find one. I was told by several dealers that their isn't any on the Eastern board they can get me. I have been told by multiple dealers in other states that production has stopped for the 2010 Si... Regional Honda sales reps that manage the volume of Hondas sent to dealers said this. I can't figure out if this is a bunch of bull**** or what, but I'm curious to know why the availability of the Si is becoming scarce. Am I the only one having this problem or is it just me?

We are having this problem in the west coast as well and I'm from Cali. There are a few in my state but only come in black. Maybe 1 or 2 in red but that's about it. Been searching for an FA5 about 2 months now.

When I bought in mid July of last year, Si's were in pretty short supply then too. But by then I think production had stopped for the 09 model year.

A lot of dealerships only had 1 black Si as well. I wanted a TW.

Si's are produced in really small numbers since most people aren't interested in the car at all.

thats funny.

in Toronto, i know a couple of dealers within a 50 mile radius with over 5+ each.

The si is not a rare car. its a mass produced economy sports sedan/coupe.

sometimes scarcity is artificially created.

No really. Think about how many people actually want an Si.

There aren't many.

Majority, by faaaaaaaarrr want the dx/lx/ex. Why would they want to pay more and have to shift gears blah blah blah.

Most people don't even know what the Si is or how it's different.

Never Again!
This is incredible. I just checked the dealer whom I bought my Si from. They have 0 Si Coupes and 0 Si Sedans. I can't ever remember a time when they never had any. Last winter, there were a ton of them in January/February. This is really strange. I wonder if people just aren't buying them now or whether they will ramp up production in the Spring? You would think that if the demand is there, Honda would be doing all they could to produce and sell them.

I think it would be interesting to see a year to year comparison of production volume in Civic Si units and see how the recession played its hand. I am assuming that this year as well as last year, saw a large decline in the number of Si's produced. I am only guessing here, but it could be that HOA has scaled back completely during the winter in preparation for a slow and calculated warm weather season sale.

I just checked the dealership I bought mine at (northwest honda) and didn't see any there, they always have had 4 or more on the lot. I also didn't see any last time I went for an oil change... strange...
